Battlefield 3

So you have to have origin open in your web browser to log into the game right?

Surely having your browser open hogs some system resources and affects frame rates?

Na, it really shouldnt be too bad, especially if you only have that 1 tab open. If you are using chrome, it may use a bit more ram than say Internet explorer. I also believe the new Firefox chews ram as well. My Chrome browser is normally using about 3gigs of my 8 gigs of ram, but that is because I often have 25-40 Tabs open(crazy, I know)

But on the whole, I quite like the idea of joining through the web browser, has a fair number of pro's I believe.
Always had too much grief trying to find servers on the ingame server list

Origin opens your browser.

Then you find servers in the browser in the server browser, its not too bad. I guess Firefox would hog resources :p

Talking of which. I'm waiting for Takealot to phone me back now, let's see how badly they want my order. If I don't get it today I'm off to BTgames and I WILL cancel my order with Takealot. But I'll wait for the game to arrive on Monday then return to sender. That way they will have to pay shipping x2 :D

give em hell dude! they're meant to have dispatched it this morning at the latest! you can't give people a pre ordered game 3 days late (monday)

Ah okay, thanks for the answers guys.

I use chrome, but if it will save on some RAM usage, I will set my defualt browser to IE :sick:

Gonna shoot out at lunch to buy it, so that I can leave it on all night to download and update. I will see you guys on the battlefield (lol) on Saturday hopefully! :)

Trying to book a copy of the game now at BTgames just in case. Don't want to get there tonight and they have no stock.

On that topic:
The DLC which I got for the pre-order from Takealot, I can still use it right as I pre-ordered and they fk'd up the delivery. Even if I do get a Standard copy from BTgames?

The codes are diff so I'd say yes. Just go into Origin and redeem the code.
Edit: Some other dude may not be so happy though :D

The code is just for the SPECACT skins, though. So if you get the standard copy, you won't get Back to Karkand for free.

That is how I understand it, at least.

I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for the expansion, but I need to play tonight :(
 
From the looks of it the Limited edition CD-key unlocks Back to karkand...there isnt a seperate code for it. Best of luck man :(

Im currently waiting for the delivery dude...HURRY!!
