Anyone elses download going at 78KBps on a 384k line ????????????? constant speed since the start
 
Question: Are Origin updates/downloads resumable. That is if I terminate my connection due to the mother of storms about to hit my place. Can I resume where I left off?

Naaa, North of Pretoria. I'm tempted to reset my router and see if I get a better slot. Still on 85% hate when **** like this happens! It's the EA Orgin servers for sure. My browsing although a little slow is perfectly acceptable. I'm using a MWEB shapped uncapped 4meg account on my 10 meg line get around a 6meg DL usually.

Origin has an absolutely awful downloader, I would not terminate if I were you ... Origin works in chunks, so it downloads a chunk, finalises it, and then does the next one ... if you lose connection during that chunk, you lose all of what has been downloaded and that chunk starts again.

However, the main problem is, a chunk can be the whole dam file!! ... The whole of BF3, almost 12 gigs was in about 3 or 4 chunks ... was seriously depressing when I lost connection at 50% and had it resume at 30%

I hear you. Love it, Origin/STEAM (essentially Anti-Piracy counter measures dressed up in a clown suite) put measures in place to stop people playing games they have purchased legitimately. In my case since 13:00 this afternoon. I have spent almost 7 hours trying to install a game and get it working. ****ing shocking!!!!

Installation was a breeze. Game is absolutely brilliant so far. Now if this bloody lightning could bugger off so i can play.

Oh, and mine came from takealot. No issues there. I guess I've been lucky.

I restarted PC. Lost about 15% of the download but this is a good compromise because dloading at 100kbps again :) also changed my router so don't know if it was playing up.
 
Installed with no issues. Patch downloading fast (WA).

My games PC is kept clean with minimum apps installed so maybe that helps.

Latest updates if everything installed.
 
Well I have been playing and getting the hang of things.

64 Players seems fine on 384 line, just Tehran is laggy, and the occasional spike elsewhere.

Got my first MVP ribbon too, even though we got crushed by a stacked team on Damavond.

I think I saw Psycho_Pitbull once (cause I killed him, lol), but I haven't really seen anyone else I recognised, except zolmaster.
