Battlefield 3

We've had this discussion on our forum many times. People who don't want to play a competitive game should just really not go to the clan servers. If you can't handle it, go play somewhere else. It's really that simple. And I mean this in the nicest way possible. The players that are in clans are obviously used to a whole different standard of play. That's why we have our own server so we can practice and have skirmishes with players from other clans. When the "randoms" as you call them come play there and start moaning about stacking and start "vloeking" us, we ask them nicely to leave.

Yeah, I totally get it. I usually join the clan servers coz the standard of play is higher. And like I said, if the teams are way too imbalanced I don't complain about it, I just find another server.

From the games I've been playing lately it seems most of the utter noobs have figured out to join other servers coz I've had some pretty tight games on the clan servers.

Last night i played with the ss guys and found that there were about 4 ss guys on each team. Another clan was also there and was also split equally. But dam that game was hard...

Games where you have to work as a team and battle tooth and nail for every single point are always great fun!

Hard yes but fun

well to you guys that have not encountered being spammed by mortars on the smaller maps, you are very lucky.

try playing a rush game and all that happens is you get mortar'd by the enemy as you spawn.

mortars on smaller maps is what I am talking about, as on bigger maps the range is an issue.

the thing about clan servers and stacking is, although you will find our BOC guys also doing it, that you don't need to stack every round.
you will most of the time find me on the opposite side of my clan members and it is always pleasurable to take on a whole squad of them and wiping them out, even with their TS advantage.

we always make it our mission to get our own members' tags and give them a good BAGGIN'

Now that I know the trick of these mortars I will WTF pwn them. Someone mentioned earlier how it ACTUALLY WORKS.
That being said, I think he needs to edit it, we don't want people to google mortar and find it on here

You talking to me? :p

@Off-the-chart
Meh, you get spawn campers from every side. I had to deal with two tanks raping my spawn last night. And while I mortar the carp out of people on Seine Crossing (bridges are delicious choke points, and people seem to LOVE all hiding behind the same crate), I make a point of it not to mortar the enemy spawn unless their mortar dude is camping there. And if I camp too long I know I will die, people often swim across the river and hunt mortars down. You will never get around spawn pwning unfortunately :/

Mortaring isn't some magical weapon. It's just a question of understanding the mechanics and applying it.

What I hate about the some of the games I've played on clan servers, is that if it's one clan server, you see lots of different clans stacking onto that side. So it ends up being mixed randoms vs mixed clans.

At least the game is popular enough that if the stacking is too bad, it's easy enough to find a new server. No point in moaning coz no one will actually try to balance it.

Sadly i have noticed this as well, we stack a lot but we only do it on servers that we can see will be a challenge but for some reason you will get clans who join the game but jump over to the strongest side which is annoying, it happens on both clan and open servers. For some reason certain clans or people are so concerned about their stats that they would rather destroy and then base rape the F out of a team to ensure they get nice k/d's. It's very sad actually because the epic games between two strong teams are insane and for the non clan okes to have an equal team is nice.

The non clans okes always get shyte when they moan about the stacking as well haha which is rubbish.

Tooken what i always try and remember about this game is that i kill many okes when they are around the corner and as much as i can put entire clips into people and they won't die the same happens to them sometimes when they shoot me :D. So it balances out i reckon.

btw, you guys also notice that you actually still can knife any other way, but then you just don't get the tags.

a good way to challenge you to go the sneaky route and knife from behind, but in the beginning I was afraid this was gonna be a fail way of doing it because no "around the corner instant knife".

Knife from the back = 1 mouse wheel click
Knife from the front = 3 wheel clicks but you are dead after one.
Knife guys lying down = 3 wheel clicks

I find the knife works 100% from the back or side and from the front it works every time as well but only 34 or 35% cannot remember now. I actually like that you cannot knife a person easier than you shoot em when you meet head-on. Like cod up close you can kill easier with a knife from 10m than shooting the guy :D. Also bad company was like that when the knife worked.

Cant tell you how many times I've died when the guy I want to knife turns around. It's like I'm slicing him with a butter knife!

- A detailed look at Squad refinements

Today's PC client patch features numerous tweaks to Squad functionality and is part of our ongoing efforts to make it easier to play with friends and Platoon mates. These changes will also be implemented for consoles when we release the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 updates shortly. Stay tuned for the exact date of the console updates.

First, we need to look at how joining with Squads and Platoons affects the balance of teams. Initially, servers are commanded to equal out each side, so joining with friends can impact that balance while joining with Platoons further hinders this. As a result we have made some adjustments to the in-game Squad management screen.

For PC, you are now able to highlight the various Squads and select which one you wish to join by selecting a Squad and then clicking the Join Squad button. Please note that the Squad Privacy option still allows 2 man Squads which, during 64 player sessions, can lead to players with no squad position –- the number of people with no Squads will be shown at the bottom of the Squad selection list.

After the patch is applied to consoles (in the near future) you will be able to join Squads by cycling through the list and selecting which Squad you wish to join.
