Battlefield 3

It's actually full auto. I generally don't use 12g frag rounds. Only time I do is when my team is losing badly. Then I feel it's an attempt to even the sides somewhat. At least, that's how I justify it in my head. :o

ah forget you can just keep your fire button in, but the 1 shot 1 shot made me think it semi.

Oh my gosh. Its going to take me years to get my Recon service star. I hate playing recon, but I have service stars for all my other classes. Only about 40% there with Recon. Sigh!

It's actually quite simple: just don't play as a sniper. Choose a decent shotgun/PDW (eg. AS VAL) and play assault style with that weapon. That's what I did. It can be really useful having the TUGS and spawn beacon too. Try to use them actively.

yeah and do a lot of flag capping/defending or M-COM arming if you play rush.

see many people also tend to go armour with kits other than engineer as to get that kit levelled.

AFAIK, if you go armour, you level up the armour, not the base infantry class. What I think you can do though, is jump out of the armour just before a flag is capped, then back in after the cap. The flag capping is a good idea though. I forgot about that.

hmmmm, will have to have a look at that.

might be thinking of BC2, but I am sure that counts towards your kit as well.

but yeah, if it does only count for vehicle, the flag capping and going aggressive recon will be best.

my gripe with current recon is, you now don't have much of an 'alternate' killing method.
I would go play recon if it had the C4 again cause then I could still attack tanks.

Using this strat to level up recon is good! I just tested it now, UMP-45 (supressed) and was running around capping flags, killing doods, playing TUGS and Spawn beacons, actually was quite a lot of fun! :) Already gone from 41% complete to 49% complete :D

dammit how difficult is it to kill some1 with mortar now :(

like some1 is going to be standing still after getting hit by 1st shot...

or getting that damn repair kill on enemy vehicle :(

mortar kill isnt too tough, just keep shelling, especially stationery vehicles. Repair kill i suggest wait until a tank is distracted by someone with rockets and go up behind it

For the mortar kills, wait until the enemy is mortaring your team, then pop a mortar onto their head (enemy mortars show up nicely on the map and you know they're not moving around).

For the repair tool vehicle kill, wait until a vehicle is disabled and burning, then sneak in and repair kill.

My most frustrating bit about the assignments so far was the 5 DPV buggy kills to get the MK3A1 Jackhammer. I kept getting killed in the damn buggy before I could kill anyone. I whooped for joy when I got the last one. My gf looked at me like I was crazy. I then explained why, but the look didn't go away. :o

Mortaring is simple, it can take awhile though.

Grand bizarre 64 is the easiest.

Getting your tank kill is simple. Squad up with your mates and hunt armour. They put in two rockets you run in and poon it.

Good team work wins this game! Wow, had a game last night that proved that!

you guys make "run in and repair him to death" sound so easy.

clearly you guys don't seem to play against guys that actually use the machine gun on the tank when it disabled, or even when it's still running.

thinking of trying the EOD bot.

got my last mortar kill this morning on a vehicle. I was just surprised he actually stayed where he was after being hit twice. (was a vodnik)

I am still, very fast, getting pissed off by this 3/4 rockets into buggies to take them down, yet a well placed rocket can disable a tank 1st shot with 2nd shot being pretty much the kill shot.

man had a few fun guided shots yesterday when had some1 competent mount a SOFLAM and I used guided shell on tank. no hiding from that little chopper freaks.

Where is the best place to aim for a tank?

Behind? Where the hull and the turrent meet?

I have yet to get the best spots, since it seems they have not just made WHERE you hit it affect the damage, but also from what ANGLE and not to mention range.

hell even firing at it from the top seems to take a few shots and yet the "magic" of how a well placed barraged from a chopper can take your take out without any disabling.

recently also got ticked when a guy using canister shells with no upgrade like maintenance or reactive armour, beat my tank with reactive armour AND guided shell.

if he had something like autoloader I can still accept, but canister shell and no physical upgrade like armour or maintenance???? come now

Running in and repairing a tank is easy, you obviously don't want to do it on a one directional map. So go with the b2k maps. Very easy to do it on them.

Spotting is the easiest thing. Go 3rd seat tanks damavand peak, your mate is driving, your other mate is repairing. You are spotting.

I did most of them on the 24/7 metro server. I took a lot of deaths but just spotted every single enemy.
