Hi Everyone

Ive been reading My BB articles and posts for years, and Ive finally decided to join.

Anyway, is anyone as excited as I am for the release of Battlefield 3? I think the game ia going to be absolutley amazing and im counting down the days. Does anyone know the exact time and date that the game will be released? I pre-ordered the game months ago at BT games, but I cant remember exactly what they said regarding the time and date. :)

First of all, welcome. And how can you be counting down the date for something you can't remember? lol, anyway, it's being released on the 28th of October, as for the time; I don't know because I didn't pre-order my copy from BT games.

Haha Thanks! I knew it was around the 28th or 29th,but I wasnt sure of the time. Will give them a call quick.

I just received an email from Origin saying that my pre-load of BF3 begins tomorrow (21st) - so that gives us about 7 days to download what I'm guessing is going to be about 10 - 12gig of installs (maybe more?). With a 4mb line, it should finish overnight, but the servers will probably be busy given the number of people pre-loading, so I'm not sure if I'll get full line speed.

I can't wait :) :)

I too am an avid Lurker but this game has gotten me into replying to a thread!

Pre-ordered from BT Games

Release: 28 October 2011

Available from: 27 October 2011 at the midnight launch!

It has reached a point where I literally cannot play any other game in anticipation.

Here's the email:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for pre-ordering Battlefield 3. We would like to remind you
that your pre-load of the game begins tomorrow, October 21st. You will
receive an Email from us tomorrow by 11:59pm PDT, which will include
your order information and instructions on how to begin your pre-load.
Note: To ensure an optimal game experience, go to Origin.com/download
and install the latest version of the Origin Client before you pre-load.

Sincerely,
The Origin Team

WTF?!?!?!

So what's the use of buying the bloody game then if I need to download 12GB's ?

Me too, I played the beta and since then I cannot get used to BlackOps again. The way the you move and feel of the terrain and weapons was awesome, and now Black Ops feels a little too simple or something. Like moving from a real ("as in realism") game to a plasticy toy one lol. I'm looking forward to MW3 though - I haven't pre-ordered it, but I'll probably but it next year sometime. BF3 is going to keep me busy for a while.

I bought it online - from Origin, so I'm downloading it - kinda like buying on Steam. If you pre-ordered from a store like BT Games, you'll get it on a disc. So if you do need to download anything it'll probably just be Origin (tiny), as well as any patches they may release.

I preordered from takealot... the free delivery was just to good. Got 2 copies. Hoepfully I receive it day after launch as well. So have to have origin installed?

so if I pre-ordered from Kalahari, does that mean i will only get it the 29th Oct or do they ship the 27th so that you receive it on launch day??

Being a dedicated BFBC 2 fan for little over a year now, Im counting down the days to BF3. This is going to be the best FPS in years to come.. Dice knows it,Infinity wards knows it, and Im buying it!

Sure the BETA had its glitches and what not but I knew the retail version is where its REALLY at. See you guys on the battlefield!

To be honest, I didn't play the BETA that much. Loads of glitches, and graphics werent amazing either. I decided that Im rather going to wait for the actual game release. Currently all I've been playing is BFBC2. I still love that game. There is nothing better than stabbing someone, doing a road kill or blowing up a tank with C4 !

Only Grandmasters may welcome the new members, Scribe.

He mentions an Origin purchase, which means its a digital copy, which means its downloaded. 12GBs, yea man, did you expect the game to be 3GB? 2005 called, they want their install size back! :D

My pre-load is done. It was 11.4gb. I noticed that the game downloaded with an Update/Patch folder which has some patch files in it (322mb) so that may be the day 1 patch. I wonder if the people who bought the disc version will have to download that 322mb patch after install. Also - if that is not the day 1 patch, then there might be additional downloads on top of that 322mb for the disc version.

modda BF3 on scene release and P2P ahhhh :) here i come :)

So what do you guys think og the game? I play it on xbox and there are definitley alot of issues they need to sort out. The most irritating thing for me is playing the same map over and over. You play metro, then you go to Caspain border, back to metro, than another map and then it goes back to metro again ! It drives me crazy! I am also experiencing loads of lag at times, and so are most of my xbox friends.

Maybe its just me , but the graphics on some stages look better than others. The sound is amazing in this game. Overall, it's an amazing game and once they sort out the glitches it will be even better
