Battlefield 4 review

Erm, you are wrong, the structures have the same destructibility as BF3, even worse, they have scripted almost all of the "revolutionary" map changes  which means, next time you play it, the building will collapse, the same it did the previous time, it will fall down the same, again, and again, and again, and again, and again....

Maybe you should play it first before commenting.
Or I can watch a YT review where it says that a rocket can blow away basically any type of cover, and based on watching previous reviews for other games, assume that the guy is not lying ?

I don't need to play the game to know there is a commander mode, and what an awesome aspect that brings to the game and that you don't just slap that onto BF3 with 5 minutes work. I also don't need to play the game to know that the weather can change and alter the dynamic of the game.

So maybe you should think first before commenting.

If you accept that this is how's its done, then they have already won, and your expectations are so low; even I will be able to sell you anything, even a polished turd.
Son, you also need to accept that this is how the world works. I really don't care if you cry a river because you are never going to see your R485 again, but I have no problem paying that, I paid R300 - R350 for all of the WoW expansions, so even if I consider BF4 a patch on BF3, It's R200 more than a normal expansion. No problem.

Don't tell me I will be doing the community a disservice by buying the game.

Oh snap, I too am seeing the truth now, we're all just acting like sheep, while teh ev0l EA/Dice are milking me for cash.

You do realize "boy" that your the one crying a river because I expressed my opinion, go ahead, buy it. Just don't cry me a river once you get bored of it super fast, oh yeah, your a fanboy, so you'll be sitting in your room, crying, forcing yourself to play this for years to come...

And yes you will be doing us all a disservice buying EA swill, hope you enjoy BF5 and BF6 with different CSS style plastered all over it.

Edit: Ble, getting hot under the collar, I would like to apologize for insulting you, don't want to go low like that again, again: sorry.

You that type of person that desperately always tries to justify your own reasoning. So i'm going to do the same for you:

-Commander mode
Updated version of BF2
-Spectator mode
Games had it for years before BF, guess they can just market you anything can they and claim its an invention!
-New game modes
Counter strike anyone? Definately never seen before...

Oh ffs, I'm not even sure why I'm trying, its just too damn easy -_-

You know what, go buy the game, I don't care anymore, you will just come here PERSONALLY INSULT poeple instead of contering with valid arguements, they may seem like valid ones to you, but they arent, they are rehasing you for your money, simple as that, they have succeeded, because like zombies, fanboys will go out and buy this anyway.

I'm just gonna say this one more thing and i'll let it rest.

NONE of my friends have decided to buy this game, I didn't even have to persuade them, they realized from the start that this is just gonna be another expansion dressed as a new release.

I'll repeat: IMHO If anybody buys this game, you will be doing the community an injustice, they are reselling an old game to you with a different CSS and you're too blind to see it.

/Peace I'm out

-1 Nether.

Its ok, I'm not afraid to express my views :)

I won't comment further, but I will still read everyone's input afterwards.

-1 For people who wont agree with me, +1 for those that will, pretty obvious :P (yeah there are those that don't give a crap, probably better off for it too)

-Commander mode
You mean the feature that was in both BF2 and 2142, but magically disappeared after that? So innovative!
-Spectator mode
Wow, this is the first game that has this. What an innovation! :/ The bigger question is why was this not in BF3 in the first place.
-Many new game modes, the little I saw of Obliteration was amazing in the beta, as well as more competitive-oriented modes. This is great because the South African BF3 competitive community is thriving, and to have the developers catering to our needs is excellent in a sequel
Many new game modes that nobody is going to end up playing because everyone will just be playing Rush, Conquest or Deathmatch. As always.
-In-game VOIP
WOAH! ANOTHER INNOVATION!
-A third faction with its own vehicles
NO?! This will change the game forever!
-Many new weapons and vehicles, with many mechanics tweaks to differentiate them from BF3 and allow different balancing options
You mean, new weapons and tweaks which all competitive FPS games add?
-Redesigned damage modelling for vehicles, with greater tactical depth (mobility disables and different critical damage levels)
Doesn't really change much of the gameplay
-5-man squads
Doesn't really change much of the gameplay
-Completely new squad field upgrade system
Doesn't really change much of the gameplay
-Revamped experience and unlock progression
Doesn't really change much of the gameplay
-Swimming underwater with ability to fight in that state (this is on the level of your "Tomb Raider unrealistic parkour wall-climbing")
This is one of the few things that actually sounds cool
-A "firing range" feature that was much-requested in BF3 where you can try out all the weapons and train to use the vehicles
Which could have been modded into BF3 in less than an hour had DICE made modding tools availble, so again, meh
-A whole new campaign. Now this is not what I buy the game for, but the game has a full feature set of both singleplayer story and a highly refined, improved and expanded multiplayer
big meh

Look, I accept that for some people this game is worth it and power to them, really. It's good if you find a game you enjoy. Just don't act like this is anything other than what it is - franchise milkage by re-releasing BF3 with some tweaks and gimmicks.

You know that ages old adage, "If you can't beat them, join them"? EA wanted to beat CoD, but when they realised they couldn't they decided to join them instead. Why was EA not as vocal about BF4 as they was BF3 during its development? Because they know everyone will just crap on them for copying the CoD business model of releasing a new game with very little innovation and minor changes to the gameplay. Expect to see BF5 in 2015 with very little innovation, maybe a new faction and a handful of gimmicks.

Nothing wrong with it if you like BF4, just like there's nothing wrong with enjoying every new CoD, but I simply don't find it worth paying R400 for BF3.5 and I definitely don't want to play a game that plays so much like BF3 again if I got tired of BF3 in less than a year.

I don't buy CoD because it's the same game every year and now it seems I won't buy BF because it's the same game every second year.

So much complaining... if you don't like it, don't buy it. If you like it, buy it... simples.

Personally I loved BF3 and got the premium pack for it, but discovered other games during the year so it wasn't well utilised and I won't be getting the premium pack this time around. I dont' care if it's much of the same, because I BF3 was great fun.

Might be worth keeping an eye on GMG for specials after release and pick it up at some point. I suspect the BF3 servers will wither away as people move over.

I'm happy buying another "BF3 Map Pack" vs another COD DLC.

Zewp looks like your main gripe is "Doesn't change much of the gameplay"

What other dramatic changes do we need in the gameplay of an FPS ?

Well that would explain why you're friends, wouldn't it ?

I guess you all reckon your PC gaming is sacred and no one shall defile it by foisting some watered down game on you, oh no sir !

I don't buy CoD because it's the same game every year and now it seems I won't buy BF because it's the same game every second year.

I was specifically highlighting improvements on BF3 that add up to make it worth the amount of money one pays; therefore it's irrelevant if some things were in previous games, or mysteriously disappeared in BF3, or are in other FPS games. I'm speaking purely in relation to BF3.

You have to view this from the perspective of people who see BF3 as worth it on it's own merit and BF4 as an improvement over that, not starting from the assumption that BF3 wasn't enjoyable, to understand where the supporters of BF4 are mostly coming from. I got almost 1000 hours of great enjoyment from BF3, both competitively and just messing around with friends in squads. Since you didn't really enjoy BF3, there's a fundamental difference in one's view of BF4.

Every business in the world will try to get maximum profit from an investment. I don't know why people see gaming publishers as any different from this model. I play Path of Exile too, a completely free to play game with amazing developers. At the end of the day, they still need money from microtransactions and the like. "Milking franchises" will occur inevitably until it's obviously no longer worth it to the consumer. The fundamental difference is that those who enjoyed BF3 will in most cases see BF4 as offering something worthwhile on top of an experience they still enjoy and it is therefore worth it to them (though some might not and will skip BF4, no worries). Those who didn't enjoy BF3 are obviously looking for something different, and that's fine.

There's no need to sh*t on other's days with "stick it to the man bro I'm so superior that I see it as milking the franchise and people being sheep".

I don't sh*t on people for playing DotA 2, nor LoL, nor World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, whatever. I could come up with asinine thinly-veiled ad hominems about the people who play those games and how people are getting shafted, but I don't. This thread is for a review of BF4. Rather say "Meh, not different enough from BF3 for me, I'll skip this one" rather than the weakly hidden disdain of those who enjoy a certain game series.

And here's a nice video showing why it's likely that the new Obliteration game mode is probably going to be pretty popular I'd say:

I don't mind paying for the game or premium. Its still worth it. I just hope they are going to ban the 7 sorts of shiz out of haxors and exploiters. Perma ban the fkers from ever buying a game again.

I'm a fan of Dawkins myself but I think that quote is a bit misused here unless you can actually add something to your statement.
