I foresee the 2011 Champions League final all over again. United's midfield is going to get mangled.
 
1078 passes in 90 minutes. Pretty much a pass every 5 seconds. And this is NOT taking into account that Hertha BSC surely had the ball for a few seconds throughout the match.

Very umm... impressive but did anyone watch the game and was it entertaining from a neutral point of view?
 
Moyes has the tactical nous to stop this, no worries.

To be honest I do not enjoy watching Pep's sides or the Spanish national team. By golly are they effective at what they do but it is not exciting. 1000 passes for 13 shots at goal. That sounds boring.

I wouldnt begrudge Moyes because he only lost against Bayern, its obviously a combination of the entire season.

Pretty much where I was heading with my question - I can't see much entertainment value in that. Much rather see two teams giving it a go than one keeping the ball ALL the time and occasionally taking a pop at goal. It would be like watching a training exercise.
 
Pep is a tactical genius and when you post a screenshot of that app, you will see them run rings around Man U in the champions League.
 
Pep is over-rated.


Any manager of note would have won the league with Bayern.


Tell Pep take over a relegation threatened team and lets see how much of a change he can make.


His philosophy on tactics and style is not too dissimilar to countless other managers plying their trade, he just has been lucky that he was managing the right team at the right time.


Look at Laudrup, he has been out of a job despite his brilliant tactical acumen.

While I still have my reservations about Pep, I don't agree with that sentiment. Louis van Gaal had the same Bayern team and finished third before being booted out. Heyneckes finished second in his first season back. Pep is taking them up a notch, something I honestly didn't expect him to do.

His philosophy is still uniquely his- how many other teams do you see that have the possession and passing figures that they do?

Laudrup is not actually a brilliant tactician- his team were often found out for their one-dimensional style. I'm a huge fan of his, both as a player and as a coach, but you can't compare him to Guardiola.
