BB 9800 Torch Thread

I still cannot receive any mms messages. My BIS is on for definite....any ideas?
 
OK, I'm going to be the proverbial pain in the ass and just ask.

Can someone point me to some step by step directions on how to upgrade my Torch to OS6 .337? I know it has been asked in this thread and the reply was that MYBB is awash with threads about this. If it is, I can't find them.

Can Piesang or one of the other clever Trevors please assist?

I've already downloaded + installed the software FWIW.

Your help greatly appreciated.

Give me a second.
 
First things first. Always make sure you backup your phone before updating.

First make sure you uninstall any previous versions of the Blackberry Firmware from your PC.
Download .337 and install it on your PC
After you installed it on your PC go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader
Delete the vendor file
Run Loader and follow the steps. If it asks you to backup again just do it.

Sorry for the delay. Trying my best to use my Useless Cell-C 7.2mbps USB Modem that I wasted R1500 on.
 
@piesang - if I can recall you've been running .337 for a while. Any issues and is it worth the hassle? I have not yet come accross a proper review yet.

I didnt' have a problem with the previous version I just updated my firmware because a new one was available. I can' t complain about any problems on .337.
 
Finally managed to get it loaded. Absolute insanity at work.

Feels a bit slicker than before. Hope battery will be better as it didn't last long. Granted it was only the first charge.

Any nice themes that gives me smaller icons on the home screen?

I just upgraded from a 9700 and prefer the 6 icons on the home screen instead of the 4 like it is on the Torch.

Got my 3rd Torch back from OBF about a week ago and I must say I am very happy now, none of the slider and trackpad problems that I experienced previously. In about a week I have probably saved more than what BIS costs with all the browsing and e-mail I've been doing. This phone is great.

The icons are smaller already - 68x68 instead of 80x80 (very annoying, I had to redo all my icons for my new Torch theme). But the screen is portrait, only 360 pixels across instead of 480. You can have two rows of icons though - drag the bar above the icons up or down.

Hi all!

I am having a problem with purchasing apps from app world on my blackberry torch. I put in all the correct card details, and when i purchase it says authorisation failure. How can i fix this? I have also tried paypal, which gives me the same error code 11000.

Go to Options -> Device -> Advanced System Settings -> TCP/IP

APN settings enabled -> Make sure it is ticked
APN: blackberry.net

That should work. Just remember that your device can still use data with certain apps. Not all apps use BIS
 
I'm on version .246 I always need to delete service book 1 before I download anything or else I get a download failed error. I'm now trying to download a larger file and I keep getting a "Request entity too large" error. Tried deleting service book 1 and just using service book 2 to download but keep getting download failed error. Would installing this new OS (.2534?) Solve this problem?
