BB 9800 Torch Thread

I love the torch, but the build quality is an issue. Its not that its terrible, I just get this feeling when using it that its going to break soon

I don't know why, but I must say, the slide action of my Torch is very tight. There is a very very very little wiggle but not that I can complain about it. If it gets more loose then I'll definately replace it.

Mine is not tight at all ... reasonably firm and slides nice but there is a very slight wiggle on mine as well.
PS. About that battery charge Piesang ... I kept mine on 2G since I dont always surf the net and change it to 3G when needed and it lasts 2 days also ;) ... Firmware .284 tho ... going to .337 when I get home ;)
 
My Torch is flawless so far and I am digging the heck out of it. Especially Web browsing is a pleasure with the new browser. Only got it yesterday so I will see how it holds up after a few days.
 
All Torch users what kind of battery life your'll getting at the moment?
 
Basically a bit more snappy all around. Most noticable is "pinch to zoom". Very stable build since .246
 
I upgraded to 337 yesterday and the battery life has increased tremendously.

Is it the same procedure as other BB's?

Uninstall current OS from PC (if any)
Install new downloaded OS (.337)
Delete Vender file
Run Loader.exe in Apploader directory
 
Ok, so I did the upgrade this afternoon. Everything went smoothly, took about 15-20minutes.

So far the phone is more responsive. Will keep a close eye on it the next few days.
 
Since I have got my BB 9800 the slider has become a bit loose is it worth sending it back to vodacom?
 
I'm getting through a working day with almost half the battery to spare. Going to upgrade to .337 today to see if there's any improvement.
 
I guess it also depends on your usage style.

I use BBM a lot. Have 35 BBM contacts and Groups I belong to.
I use 2 business and 2 personal email addresses.
I use Facbook an Twitter almost half of the day.
Browse the internet a few times a day. Especially myBB.
Then the usual make and receive calls and sms's.
 
Upgraded to .337 and already the battery looks much better.

Piesang, I also run 4 mail addresses on the BB, two of them pretty busy. I BBM a lot, and apps like Socialscope, Weatherberry and Wallpaper Changer are constantly running. My Bold 9700 got about two working days with the same setup.

How do i go about upgrading...from the website there is only .246 or am i missing something?!
