Hi Kage,
I have a BB Torch too and I've found the following to be useful:
*First off, get a pouch of some sort. The unlock button on the top of the phone tends to bump things and unlock the phone. Since getting a pouch that problem is no more!
*I couldn't get GTalk to work on my Torch - if you have that problem, just try using Nimbuzz instead.
*You can move the icons on your home screen around to suit you. Just highlight the icon you want with the trackpad (don't click on it) then hit the BB Menu button and select Move. Move to wherever you want it to be. Repeat until happy.
*You can also favourite icons much the same way as you move them, just choose favourite from the BB Menu. I keep everything I love most on my favourites screen for easy access because your ALL menu can get very full with all the juicy apps you download.
*Hitting the red cancel button or the back button when in an app does not exit/close the app. The app is still running in memory. That being said, it's better for you to use the Switch Application option in the BB Menu to move between apps.
*A little app available on the BB App World for free is Mobile Data Alerter. This thing tracks how much data you've used. You can set your own alerts for certain usage amounts, and it can differentiate between your home network usage (eg MTN, Vodacom) and when you're roaming internationally, and when you're on Wifi.
*In messages, you get different options in the BB Menu depending on whether you have the message highlighted, the day highlighted, or are IN a message.
*Your BB battery will only last about a day if you use it plenty. To be safe, charge it every night while you sleep.
*Your BB will only reboot fully and reload all the software and do a verification check if you pull the battery while it's off. Sometimes a soft reboot (turning it off and on) doesn't always do the trick. Most of the time a soft restart works well enough when installing new apps or such, but if you have problems, do a hard reboot. Hard boot takes a few minutes though.
*If you're on Prepaid, and you buy your BIS package for the month, take note that "expires on the 16th" means that at midnight at the end of the day on the 15th, you'll fall off BIS. Not at the end of the day on the 16th.
*The BB Torch's camera only takes the picture when you lift your finger OFF the camera button.
Fun games that work well on my Torch and are Free: Bubble Defence Demo, Hangman, BeZombied Free, Sudoku Lite.
That's all I can think of for now!
