BBC World on 3G

Enjoy BBC :) Glad it is working now and that I could help

The most time I have spent watching BBC on my Nokia 6680 was a total of 1 hour 36 minutes. No charge and no interruption of service (I was travelling at the time so I am impressed with tower to tower handover)

Last night I desided to watch Click Online @ 9:30 on my phone instead of normal TV :) walked to the shop with headphones watching :)

Have you noticed that nearly all the BBC presenters speak with a lisp?:)

Pardon my possible ignorance on the subject, but is it possible to access the BBC world feed through my phone and play it on my pc instead of my phone?

EDIT: I switched on BBC World on DSTV and on the 6680 at the same time. The 6680 feed was only half a second behind that of DSTV! Now that's live :)

I was also amazed at how short the delay was, best I've seen before was a delay of about 15 seconds, but the Vodacom feed is pretty near-real time. They use the Real Networks Helix streamers / servers.

I have tested this three times with three results

1st time Vodacom BBC was exactly 18 seconds AHEAD of BBC (Channel 50)
2nd time Vodacom BBC was exactly the same as BBC (Channel 50)
and the 3rd time it was 3 seconds exactly slower than Channel 50

so yes, it is rather LIVE

Hi guys

This is my first time so I hope that this is not a silly question.

I have been watching BBC via my Sony Ericsson V800 for a while now but I can't find the link anymore.

Do any of you know what the url is?

hey brazilia, welcome to myadsl :)

i haven't used this myself, but i believe the link has been removed for some unknown reason
there's a thread about it here

was the BBC Feed ever a FREE Service (or even called a service) because then I can actually call the help centre and enquire. If it was just a small freebie then, well I guess we cant be unhappy.

I would however like BBC News back.. tommorow is Click Online =/ , will have to watch on DSTV or Stream is then

Vodacom 3G still has no idea of why they took it away, this is very strange =/

The stream was provide free with the standard proviso that it could be terminated if rights issues come into play, for example if someone else might be financially impacted if you see the stream for free.....

Horse racing on BBC World?

The BBC world link is back on Vlive, but all I get is horse racing?
Switched on DSTV, it is the TELLYTRACK channel, but why is it called "BBC World" on Vlive???

BRING BACK BBC WORLD!!

Heh, heh - its free that's probably why...

Where do you see it? I don't.

It was a typo, somehow the dev stuff slipped into the production system.

Ajax, thanks for picking it up and apologies for getting your hope up :o

We should see all the new streams by December (but don't hold me to it!)

Hey, I don't mind being a beta tester! Feel free to pm me "non-public free streaming URL's" :)

Just wanna say BBC World was the best thing that happend on Vlive! (albeit largely because it was free :p ) Used to drain my battery within 1:30H but was totally worth it!

Can't wait when it's back on "air"! :p
