@OP
Dont worry dude, lack of a product full disclosure (including updates etc and internet connection required) on the retailers part will be a thing of the past when the new consumer protection action is enforced.
They will have to disclose that in order to play the game you will need to have an internet connection to download updates and that updates may exceed x gigs and some other stuff etc
there's more to this new consumer protection act than people realize, good news for consumers, bad news for the retailers.
retailers will no longer be able to hide and not take responsibility, I am not saying this is right, but its a step in the right direction. Perhaps BTGames couldve offered an olive branch and offered to assist in updating, not just sell a product and say you on you own china...that is where they will fail soon.....mwhahahahahah!
I know i am going to get slammed for this post, but I think the retailer should've offered the dude more help than just fobbing him off to EA or whoever.
PS: Get a real internet connection, you noob!
How could they have done better? In the past, BT have assisted players who did not have internet connections to allow them to register their games for example on Steam.....

They could have called their EA rep, said we have this problem, how can you help us resolve this so we have a happy customer that will keep coming back to buy legit games.
I'm sorry OP please go to the nearest clinic and request sterilization as you should not breed, how is any of this BT games fault honestly? They did not publish the game, develop the game all they did was sell you the game. I didn't go and moan about the Company of Heroes patches before I could play etc... I eventually just decided 90% of my game purchases will be on a console, which still has updates sigh :-(
erm, I read it dude.Hmmm, if you would bother to read through the entire OP then it may be clear to you that this does not seem to be a problem related to EA, but rather to the patch not downloading properly. Please point out where EA are at fault here?
it now seems a requirement (lol ?) that each game sales person knows of by heart current and all future patch sizes for all games.
what a stupid answer, me thinks you must not breed.
so a store selling an item for profit, in your eyes, bears zero responsibility if the item they sell works or not...how daft.
PEBKAC.
Not BT's fault that you don't have ADSL.
Not BT's fault that the download didn't work properly.
Doesn't matter. Why can't he ask for his money back?

Two days ago I bought a game, Brother at Arms, at R300.00 from your outlet in Woodlands.
Arriving home I tried to install it.
