Bed in a box?

Tried the sloom thing a few years ago and found the mattress horribly uncomfy at all different configurations really.

Was very disappointed but their money back guarantee thing is legit so it's totally worth it to give it a shot.

What did you get after the sloom ?

Ready to break the bank on a bed as my back is already broken. Looking at the Sloom Q XL. Will set me back R11 000 and R5700 for base (excluding headboard).

That's R16 700. Eina!

What I like:
The extra length.
Foam Layers
Firmness changes.
Split mattress. Wife likes a firm mattress. I like a medium mattress.
The base is a bit more more modern compared to the ugly stuff that comes with sealy and C9.

What I don't like:
The price

You folk with the slooms still happy?
Do you already have an XL bed because if not budget another good few thousand for decent sheets and bedding, I went through a similar exercise recently and it was painful!!

I’d give a Sloom a try purely because of the money back guarantee, no one call tell you what mattress is right except your own body and from all reports the Sloom are definitely very decent. For sure they may not suit all needs or tastes but at least you can send it back if it’s not the one, very few other manufacturers offer that.

We have a double bed. But our duvet is a queen size. Although I have a feeling it might be too small with the moerse thick tog 15 in it. All our sheets and blankets are queen size. Grabbed an Q XL winter fitted sheet from Mr. P today. But yes it all adds up. But we haven't bought anything for ourselves in nearly 8 years. So work or no work I'm spending some money on us. And for the sake of my back. They physio is costing me a lot of money.

I have found all-foam mattresses comfortable, but extremely hot, including the Sloom.

I have tried latex, latex over pocket coils, all foam, foam over pocket coils, foam over Bonnell springs.

Can't stand pocket coils, feel like I'm sinking and get a lower back ache.

Cloud nine/Sloom, very comfortable, perfect for 1 person, add another and it's unbearably hot.

Natural latex, too hard, couldn't get comfortable.

I'm just going to go back to a trusty Bonnell coil now. They're easy to move on, cool, and last long. Sealy's system seems to be the best, old bed is one and I think it's a continuous coil unit.

Blue gel memory foam. Works great.

Not convinced by that. It's the full foam construction that causes heat build-up. The 'gel' memory foam might start out cooler, but it's getting just as hot as the rest of the foam over time.
