Hi Guys

So I need to buy a new bed soon, I did some research and found that there are two "bed in a box" companies in SA now.

Sloom:
https://sloom.co.za/

Meelu:

https://meelusleep.com/?v=68caa8201064

Anyone here have any experience with these? Are they worth it?

Or should I rather go with something like a cloud nine? Was looking at the one below perhaps:

http://beds-on-line.co.za/cloud-nine-grande-queen-mattress-isleep-range/

I don't need something that supports a massive amount of weight.. I am about 76Kg and my wife is like 54Kg, but I do want something that will last us for the next 10 years+

Cheers :)

I bought a bed recently... Couldn't believe how complex it was.

Aside from the brands, each seems to have their own patented spring technology, coils, isolated coils, memory foam, gel infused memory down etc etc.

I just took a Seally which I think has a 10 yr warranty

@OP, IMO, any layered foam mattress, made by someone who knows what he's doing, is better than any coil, spring mattress (old tech) kark.
So any of those three options you have there will be good and will last long. I custom made mine, locally at the NID, when they still made mattresses. It's now 9 years later and it's still firm and looks brand new and cost me a portion of what they cost in the shop.
The Genessi range is also good, bought for my daughter and guest bedroom.

Don't know where you're from, but there is in some cities or towns places that custom made these.

Actually they don't.
Also a lot of mattresses have 10 year warrantees.

We have a Sloom King size. Very happy with it. On the bigger mattresses, each side can adjusted to your needs. My side is firm Andy wife prefers a softer mattress. It’s also much cheaper than a conventional mattress.

Also, there’s a code on the Sloom site for 10% off your purchase

I've also been eyeing the Sloom King size. How long have you had it? No sagging or anything?

From what I recall, I think that Sloom was the only bed in a box that let you adjust the firmness. That might be a factor if you and your partner have different preferences

That is a great differentiator.

Any update on this? Also looking at these recently and the sloom beds as far as I can see only have positive reviews.

I'd also like to know.

I'm keen to replace our current mattress with one of these but I'm not getting a lot of support for the idea...

If you believe the Facebook and Google reviews then people are very happy with them. I guess you also have their 100 day return policy if it really ends up not being all that nice.

Just for shytes and giggles, I'm raising this one from the dead again....

Looking at a new bed/mattress in the near future, and was wondering about any personal experiences with Sloom etc type mattresses....
