WTF is the matter with Die Beeld these days - geez if you're a Beeld reader then it seems the world is coming to an end....

Dit is nie gerig op Afrikaans nie , net op die Beeld se wyse van joernalistiek...

not just beeld. most journalism these days.

i am so sick of reading how someone 'slammed' someone else or some organisation. jeez! cant the journos get a new verb?
tutu slams anc
malema slams zille
zille slams malema
anc slams ex-pats.

Yes? Have you only noticed this now?

The thing that disturbs *me* is that some people read "Die Son" because they think Beeld is above their intellectual level...

Yeap Beeld has gone to shlt, mind you so have 99% of the other newspapers as well :o

Think I will just read the news on the web :)

Kom lees die nuus op MyBB!!! Baie meer akkuraat.

Oh you all go on about the "slams" verb used so often. What about the "fingers" verb?
This week there was "Zuma Fingers Mbeki"
I also remember "Judge Fingers De Klerk"
"Solidarity Fingers Constitution"
"Malema Fingers Orania" (Propably while raping it - Orania subsequently slams Malema to death)
"Langa Fingers Hlope" ,etc, etc...

I scan through most of it, but I do read Tim du Plessis's articles, as well as the political satire by Lood. The weekend version also has BY which is pretty good.

no one is forcing yo to read it - or do you need some gutter in your life ? ;)

I read all the major news sites in South Africa every day.
I have often wondered why there are so many more reports on urban murders, than other news sites or even the print media report.
Obviously, none of Beeld's stories are fiction, these things are actually happening, but for some reason they are not mentioned elsewhere.
Why not?
Why is there such a different slant on what is happening in this country, in Beeld?

Like has anybody read that story bout Joost ?? I rate .......... it's him !!!! Farmer doesn't want to admit it cause it would ruin his fame !!! His wife should kick his a$$ out !!!

I also like the Monday piece by Blou willem :D

The business part is still fine just not the front page or the 10 after that :p

Rapport is no better. What a load of crap.

For 208520285 weeks now, they have had the Joost saga on the front page. That is not the most important news in the country !!!

+1 but lets be honest, Sunday news papers are little less than tabloids.
