He is reffering to the german purity laws of a few hundred years ago, the first health laws regarding food. Basically the german master brewers at nambibian breweries use only pure natural ingredients when making windhoek. Windhoek lager is a very popular premium beer amongst older men, especially windhoek draught which is also available in bottles now. Windhoek will start being produced in south africa next year at a new R3billion brewery outside of johannesburg, alongside heineken and amstel. Brandhouse is the destributor of windhoek in south africa it is an umbrella company which holds the interests of 3 companies in south africa: Namibian Breweries, Heineken Breweries europe and Diageo (the largest alcoholic beverage company in the world). U may be aware that heineken owns amstel. Both of them are big pains in the side for SAB. U may not have heard of diageo either but u drink their products everyday. Johnnie walker, smirnoff, captain morgan, foundry, bells, j&b, black&white, queen elizabeth, gilbeys, gordans, strongbow, guinness are just a few of the brands diageo owns.
One thing that really grinds my gears is when out at a restaurant or what ever looking at the menu, they have the normal beers and then they have so called international or“foreign“ beers list with exorbitant prices. What a load of bs. Miller may be an american brand but it is owned by SAB and is made right here is sunny south africa. And so is Peroni, dnt let them fool you with those ads it may be an italian brand but its also made right here. Dreher is also made right here, as well as Bavaria. The only SAB brands that are imported are pilsner urquell and grolsch. As for heineken and amstel that's made in namibia and soon south africa. I really dnt see how they can charge through the nose for so called foreign beers which are made right here!

Tried Tafel Lager yet? I've been a Windhoek drinker for yonks but if I can get my hands on Tafel I would rather buy that. Comes from the same brewery.
