Jokes aside, I was thinking of getting the Canon Powershot SX210 IS (+/-R2700.00) and see how it goes. Then later move onto the DSLR's.

If I lost my sanity overnight and awoke a beginner nikon shooter it would be the D7000 all the way - I wouldnt give the D90 a second glance.

D7000 is a beautiful camera. I was actually drooling all over one yesterday... but I must prioritise... I must not falter.

Why is the D700 so much more than the d7000? The D7000 looks like it has so many more features, is it just because it is a full frame?

I have a D90 too, awesome camera, the D7000 is very temping, D300 too.
There is a New D7000 with Nikon 18-55VR and 55-200VR lens on Gumtree for R12 000.
Why are there so many Canon 550D already on Gumtree?

I just got the Nikon D3100 (with 18-55mm & 55-200mm lens) for R7500 from Game. Its my first DSLR and I'm loving it. Really nice 1080p video too. I think its priced nicely for beginners - esp given the two lenses.
