Did the e-filing thing, now they want to see my paperwork. Cant upload more than 2MB on efiling :wtf:

Have to make photocopies of everything and go into a SARS office :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Anyone else being audited? My problem is the damn medical receipts. They are all different sizes so it may jam the copier feeder!!!

It's not really auditing if they're just asking for copies of your supporting documentation.

Yeah, apparently asking for support docs doesn't equate to auditing. I shudder to think what it means to be audited:)
I was asked for docs, and when I looked at the statement it said not selected for audit.

I think being audited means everything gets queried down to the last cent. :D

so if you can't explain where that million rands come from, you're in for a rough time :D

I guess so but when I spoke to a consultant they said it was an audit. Then again the call centres do have some people that just don't understand the process. I am thinking of going into the branch and making sure everything they require is handed in instead of going back and forth.

Dude...thats not being audited. They just need the supporting docs ;)

@ OP, did you happen to get a refund from your return?

Because SARS tends to audit those taxpayers that ends up receiving rather than paying. A couple of guys at our office that got audited all had refunds.

Think it also depends on the value of the refund - mine was considerably higher than the previous years (Almost double) - probably because I did it myself....

my pension fund payout was being double-counted for 2008 and 2009. b@stards screwed me last year and they wanted to do it again.

dont worry ... it happens all the time if you are due for a refund, and if it is a large one

just don't bullsh%t them. give them only the info they request, nothing more.

i really dont have a problem with that. i wish their upload limit was not 2MB cos now I must go to a branch.
