Hi again,

I don’t understand you answer. Am I able to upload for example 5 files? Each file is approximately 500kB, hence making the total size of files 2.5MB.

I am trying to avoid going to the SARS office.

Regards,

KSingh

Subject: Maximum upload file size query

Good day,

Does the file upload facility allow 2MB per file uploaded or 2MB as a total of all files to be uploaded?

Regards,
KSingh

I was "Selected for audit" for 2008. All I had to do was upload 2 supporting docs (tax certs) that were fortunately already available in pdf format. Was paid out a few days later.

got all in pdf except medical receipts. will scan tomorrow probably.

dropped off all paperwork last week. Waited about 1hr. They said all my docs are going to the audit dept. they wanted to see how i calculated some of my amounts filled in like for rental income.

Because SARS tends to audit those taxpayers that ends up receiving rather than paying. A couple of guys at our office that got audited all had refunds.

Me, too. They don't like to give back money. Same with VAT refunds.

Uploadind documents to SARS

Tip on How to upload files to sars:

File of supporting documentation in PDF is usually to big eg 20 MB

And sars only allows ea doc 2 mb
So use Screen Hunter to copy individual pages from the pdf doc and then paste into word (toatal will be cut down to about 2.7 MB)

Split the word doc into 3 docs numberd 1 , 2 and 3 and they should all be under 2 mb ea
And then on sars easyfile just browse to where they are saved and upload them one after another untill all 3 are uploaded
And the click on SUBMIT TO SARS at the bottom of page and wallah
