So, I got the dreaded "you are being retrenched" letter.
I have 2 MTN contracts on my name.

Any relief I can seek from MTN in terms of payments, cancellations, etc?

EDIT: Sorry if I posted in the wrong section.

If you do ask, go well-prepared with written evidence to present to them

@Dianysis
You will have to pay off the handset and one month's notice. If you cancel it now you will still have to pay September's subs and 1/24th of the cost of the handset for every month remaining on the contract.

“MTN charges one month’s service subscription plus the remaining value of the handset and the previous month’s usage charges if applicable,” MTN said.

Thanks everyone.
Shot off an email to retentions for a cancellation quote....

Did you get a reply? So if you're on a sim only contract do they only charge you current month fees and next months fees to end the contract?

Nope. They are absolutely useless.
Asked to confirm my details then nothing more.
