Being shaped for paying more? MWEB Please

My experience with torrents today:

View attachment 79115

I tried to download a torrent and also use the M-Web news servers.

M-Web News Server: 20kb per second.
Torrent: 25kb per second

I connect (PPPoE) with a capped IS account...

IS News: 104kb per second
Torrent: 95kb per second.

I haven't touched my M-Web account in a LONG time... surely I SHOULD be given some priority given that my usage of the network has been relatively low.
Haven't you heard? Mweb accounts are for email only.......as long as the emails don't abuse the network with those nasty attachments, then you get disconnected and no emails for you for a week.

Just my 2 cents worth, made the switch to Afrihost a while ago. Never regretted it. The dips you see is when I wasn't downloading anything. No more long queues in my torrents or newsgroups.

Segg VPN traffic is prioritised, downloading over VPN is not permitted.

What's happening is that the torrent traffic is not being identified as such by our network.

That's if he was using his MWEB connection.

That's my point, if he was using his mweb account then connected to his vpn and the file flew then it means that mweb was shaping the hell out of P2P at that time, from 400 to about 40 is 10% isn't it?

Feels like 90% haha

Anyway i guess i have my answer, ill start account migrations Monday unless somebody contacts me to sort this out.
Ill try moving my clients to openweb. 2 ISP's down so far im very tempted to try Telkom one point of contact is always better.

That or Afrihost. Speaking out of personal experience, both have very good support and don't throttle the living sh*t out of you.
