Hiya guys / girls and 'others' :D

I wanna do some benchmark tests on my new puppy... :p
Any ideas / hints / pointers for a newbie???

Have read benchmark tests and stuff like that and know about PCMARK / 3DMARK and stuff like that but was wondering if there is like a process and stuff ;)

Core 2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2 cache 667MHz FSB)
17" WUXGA (1920x1200) LCD
2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M PCI-x gfx
100GB 7200rpm SATA hdd
8x DVD+/-RW

No specific process, if you run 3Dmark or Pcmark it should give you criteria for benchmarking eg. set all themes and effects to high and run the tests.

There's a few other benchmarking utils out there worth checking out, such as Aqua mark and passmark performance test.

KD, if it is a Dell, it won't matter what benchmark software you use, the result will be the same: "Sorry sir, your machine sucks!" :D :p

And I suppose for games I suppose it is as simple as having to install games like DOOM3 and FEAR to check what FPS is on certain resolutions and settings....

lolDeath.......are u in SA as far as I know Dell don't do home machines in SA?
 
What does 'don't do' mean? :confused:

I've been working on Dell laptops for the last couple years, so ye they sell to the public. :)
