Bentley Bentayga

Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner

The launch of the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase Mulliner defines a new pinnacle for the Bentayga family and indeed the Bentley model range, adding a new level of modern craftsmanship to the already potent combination of supercar performance, go-anywhere ability, driving dynamics and limousine rear cabin of the Bentayga EWB. The flagship Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner offers more cabin space than any comparable luxury competitor and its bespoke enhancements make every journey an occasion to be savoured, equally as special from the driver's seat or the expansive rear cabin, providing the world's most luxurious SUV so far.

Unique design features inside and out make a striking statement, each one curated with painstaking care by the Mulliner team. The rear compartment, available in 4+1 and 4-seat configurations, features the Bentley Airline Seat specification - the most advanced automotive seating system in the world - as standard, to cosset occupants in unrivalled comfort. The Mulliner Harmony Diamond Quilt to the seats and doors demonstrates the craftsmanship that elevates the interior to a truly pinnacle position.

Using Bentley's extremely potent 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft (770 Nm) 4.0-litre V8 engine, the Bentayga EWB Mulliner combines limousine comfort with exceptional performance for a car in this class - a 180 mph (290 km/h) top speed and 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds (100 km/h in 4.6 seconds). A chassis that includes Bentley Dynamic Ride (48V active anti-roll control), rear wheel steering and three-chamber air springs gives the Bentayga EWB Mulliner all of the dynamic ability of the standard wheelbase Bentayga, making the EWB Mulliner an accomplished driver's car as well as a luxurious SUV limousine.

Bentley’s new flagship luxmobile is a longer Bentayga by Mulliner

Crewe’s deluxe SUV gets the Mulliner treatment. Tasteful spec optional

It’s a sign of the times that Bentley’s ultimate luxury range topper isn’t a traditional limousine, like the charming old Mulsanne or Arnage. It’s a stretched SUV: the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, or EWB for, um, short.

But for some folks, even that’s too mainstream. Too normcore. So for the wealthiest, most legroom-challenged people on Earth, there’s now this: the Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner. Think of it as a roast dinner with all the trimmings, served on a solid gold platter. By a unicorn.

Mulliner is Bentley’s in-house ultra-deluxe division, responsible for commissioning the limited edition Bacalar roadster and carbon-bodied Batur coupe. It’s also where you go when the usual Bentley options list isn’t posh enough for you.

So, Mulliner’s waved its velvety wand over the plushest 4x4 this side of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, and fitted its trademark ‘double diamond’ front grille. Get a bit closer and you’ll spot the self-levelling wheel centrecaps, so the ‘B’ always sits upright. They live within a new design of 22-inch wheel.

Bentley Bentayga S Black Edition

Bentley Motors announced the company's most visually striking SUV to date, the Bentayga S Black Edition. Identified by the first application of black-tinted wings to a Bentley in 105 years, the S Black Edition combines vivid accent colours, rich black detailing and confidence-inspiring chassis technology, revealing the darker side of the Bentayga.

Customers can choose from seven accent colour specifications: Mandarin, Signal Yellow, Klein Blue, Pillar Box Red, Ice, Hyper Green, and Beluga. Each of the colours bring eye-catching yet cohesive design both inside and outside, contrasting with stealthy black treatments across the car.

On the exterior, the accent takes the form of a laser-like stripe on the Styling Specification body kit below the front bumper and side sills and across the top of the rear spoiler. Brake calipers are painted to match, adding a splash of colour behind 22" black-painted wheels. As per the standard Bentayga S, all exterior brightware is replaced with gloss black versions - but the S Black Edition is the first model in Bentley's 105-year history to include the Bentley Wings and lettering in matching gloss black. The final exterior detail is a Black Edition badge located on the rear D pillar.

At the start of the year, a host of new features have increased the desirability of the Bentayga range even further. With the exterior of the car remaining fresh, the scope for increased personalisation has been increased with seven new satin paints, a new additional exterior colour and a new 21" wheel option in three different finishes. Priority has been given to the driver and passenger experience with new chassis technology, new electrical architecture and additional features, including a reprofiled front radiator grille. The introduction of all wheel steering at the launch of Bentayga Extended Wheelbase increased handling and manoeuvrability whilst also reducing the turning circle by nearly 1m. This system is now included as standard on both the Bentayga Azure and 'S' V8 models.

This Bentley Bentayga Apex Edition by Mulliner has a racing stripe

Treat yourself to a Bentayga with sporting credentials that it doesn’t deserve…

A racing stripe on a Bentley? Isn’t that a bit like sticking a hoodie on a parliamentarian, or platform boots on a nun?

Nevertheless, it’s what Bentley has done with this Bentayga Apex Edition by Mulliner. Based on the Bentayga S, only 20 will ever be made and the company claims it’s the ‘most dynamic’ Bentayga ever.

How so? Nout to do with the powertrain, that’s still Bentley’s 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 and it still churns out 542bhp and 568lb ft. 0-62mph still takes 4.5 seconds; vee max is still 180mph.

Nah, it’s because of the serious weight saving that’s occurred with the wheels and brakes: 22in carbon wheels developed with Bucci Composites save 24kg, while carbon-ceramic brakes annul another 20kg over the usual iron discs.
