Good Day All

I recently bought a Surface Go 2 tablet and it works great just find it a tad slow sometimes, originally wanted a windows laptop/tablet but now open to android aswell as the Office, Outlook and other apps mostly work aswell. I am heading to the US where tech is generally pretty cheap so was hoping you guys had a few recommendations ?

Budget around $600 or R10k.

Thanks

I'd go for this... if you find it in the US.

That is pretty good, if the OP can get to a mircocenter or a newegg storefront..... They have some decent imports as well. The only thing I would be wary of if you do get a tablet with cellular is to make sure the bands work here.

Spot on about the bands. I have no cooking clue what they mean :p

Maybe @cavedog can shed some light ?

4G: B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/19
5G: n1/3/28a/41/77/78

Back when I had a tablet, I was usually too lazy to get up from the couch and get it as my phone was 90% as good for most things. It ended up being mostly unused.
My wife's Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 on the other hand is great. It's obviously not fast for a windows laptop, but I find it infinitely more usable than a tablet. As long as the weight won't interfere with your use case.

Other than that, while I am an Android fan, the iPad is supposedly just better.

Most of the popular bands supported including 5G.

Missing out on the highwr bands like b38 for Rain/Vodacom and B41 for MTN aswel as B40 for Telkom.

Wife has one it is awesome but I am too deep into the android/window eco system so its to late for me

So leverage everything she has bought already through Family Sharing.

If anything the wife already having one is a pretty compelling reason to get one as well.

That guy was R3999 as recently as yesterday.
Grabbed 2 of these for home monitoring stuff. They are nice and snappy. Can recommend

under 15k just get an ipad(ipad 9 is crazy good value R4800 from FNB app)
between 15-30k then a galaxy S tab(better file management and productivity features)
if you need a windows then I would get a surface pro tab but they are bloody expensive and you might as well buy a laptop.
