Best 2mb uncapped Options

Nope. The lady said to me you HAVE to sign a 24 month contract. I then said NO, I don't HAVE to. I want month to month billing. Then she just said ok, not a problem. :wtf: :D

thats bloody tempting. thinking of 2mbs line but that will cost be 140 more a month. i wont be far from the 2mbs telkom all inclusive price for uncapped.

It's worth it. It's small but still a nice little boost over 1mb. :D

is that all incl? Line Rental, DSL and Uncapped Data? (I do not care much for call plans as my house doesnt even have a telephone)

Is there any contract? or is it month-month, if it is the latter then im getting it right now

Month to month. And yes, all inclusive. Without the Closer calling plan, it works out to R607. For the extra R41, it's worth adding the Closer plan though. Free weekday (7pm-7am) and weekend calls (for the first 60 minutes per call). I'll keep the Closer 2 plan, because I know I'll never have a call bill at the end of any month :)

MWEB's 2MB bundled offering is R599, just for the ISP and data portion. A bit too much for my pocket. Telkom's offer works out fine. It's less than R100 more than what I'm paying now.

Ok, just got off the phone with Telkom. Ran into a bit of a snag. According to the guy I spoke to, I don't qualify for the free WiFi router and 3G dongle with 500MB data, because I'm already an ADSL subscriber, regardless of the fact that they are not my ISP. He says that offer is for "new customers only". I told him their ad says differently, and only stipulates "new customers only" for "Free landline and ADSL installation." No where on their advert does it state the WiFi router and 3G dongle is for "new customers only." So, WTF, Telkom ?

Simple Uncapped Plus is the option I'm going for.

Faster 2 Mbps broadband
Uncapped surfing per month
500 Meg Telkom Mobile once off data

What is included in the offer ?

Telkom Landline rental
Free evening and weekend Telkom to Telkom landline calls. Up to an hour per call. *Terms and Conditions apply
Free landline and ADSL installation (New customers only)
Free 3G dongle
Free WiFi modem

shanezn. Service providers (be it cellular, sattelite tv/cable, telephone, or internet) love to give the better deals to new customers and dont give 2 sticks about their current paying customers. Gotta love it.

I also wanted to move from mweb back to Telkom to upgrade from 1mb to 2mb for an extra R100. Mweb said they'll match Telkom's price. They guaranteed that it would be a premium account. I agreed to stay with mweb but immediately after the upgrade they started shaping me. Torrents were 0kbs whole day until after 22:30. Weekend speeds were much slower than when I had a 1mb line. I complained and they said there is nothing that they can do. So after 2 weeks on mweb's 2mb account I have cancelled and will be moving back to Telkom. Friends in the area are with Telkom and have decent speeds anytime of day with torrents so the problem has to be mweb. I understand torrents are shaped but 0kbs is ridiculous.

Have you tried going into a Telkom Direct store? I find dealing with Telkom via telephone to be very hit and miss.

Yeah, same story :(

I moved over anyway. They told me it will take 72 hours for my line speed to be bumped up to 2MB, but it took 20 mins after I got off the phone. Really happy with it so far. I've changed MWEB to a capped 1GB account for the month, just in case there are any issues. So far, I'm impressed with Telkom's service, and I never thought I'd see the day I would say that.

I too never thought there would come a day that Telkom would get praise from me. Being in IT support I have had to deal with Telkom on mumerous occasions in the past, all resulting in frustration and cursing before finally getting things right. But I must say that they seem to have hit all the right notes with their uncapped.

They can take my money every month if my internet continues to perform this way :)

shanezn can you link the R650 closer plan for 4meg? I am having trouble finding it and the Telkom guy at the store today could not find it.
