Then the DVD rental shops will go bankrupt - you just stream the movie to your plasma/lcd from the online DVD rental shop.

And you don't have to return the DVD the next day to the shop - bliss!

Well, I am definately getting the 220, and yesterday at last I upgraded the VM connect software and the firmware on my U630, and today at the office I actually ave 3G reception, only 2 bars, but it is 2 bars more than yesterday. While I'm typing this, I see I might be talking too soon, as it jumps over to gprs again , but hey, at least got some. And with the usb one, I can just put longer usb cable on, and put it on the window sill. Getting the 220 taday.

Doubtful whether it would work - we already know that there are differences between Vodacom's HSDPA network implementation, and that of MTN's HSDPA network implementation - i.e. the MTN E220 firmware issue that you experienced on Vodacom's network. So, a network-specific-jippo to soup-up-an-E220-to-7.2Mbits/s is unlikely to work here.

Ag, I'm already happy with Vodacom HSDPA @ 1.8Mbps, but 3.6Mbps would be lekker.

Can get 3g on my iphone but not on my modem

Can anyone help or explain to me how this works.

I have a MTN sim card. When I insert it into my Iphone 4s i pick up 3g just fine and can surf the web etc without a problem. When i insert it into my Huawei E220 modem it does not find 3g at all. I live outside of town but if i can pick up 3g with my iphone why not with the modem. Is the modem not strong enough to pick up the signal, and if not then which modem should i get.

Do you not pick up 3G at all even when setting the modem to "3G/WCDMA only" mode?
