I'm having some really annoying problems with my ADSL connection at the moment. I am close to losing it with Telkom completely and was wondering what the general consensus is for the best alternative for a regular use internet connection.

I get good cell phone coverage in my area so was thinking of getting some kind of data bundle. I'm a bit nervous of being a pioneer and going with Neotel.

What is your average latency with Wi-Max?

International and National.

iBust or Pre-paid 3G data is probably the next best. Both options however require a significant hardware investment, so that's the limiting factor.

I'd investigate using your existing cellphone as a modem and using pre-paid data bundles. You don't want to make any long term commitments at the moment.

And with the hsupa being free now with VC and MTN, it's even more attractive... And if they change the pricing on it as well...

But like Norm! said, the Wimax is your best alternative, as the latencies are not that much more as ADSL and I have far less disconnects than ADSL users. :p
