Best budget internet option

So my parents in law are trying to see what the best package for home internet is that they can get for a budget of R200 to R250.

They don't want or need a fibre line obviously but curious what the best options are in that kind of budget. FYI they live in Krugersdorp and have a Telkom landline that was recently switched to a Sim taking device.

I know at that price you can get directly from the Cell companies as well as Afrihost mobile. Not sure about other options and which one gives best bang for buck while being reliable.

My issue with that is its ADSL, so I assume it uses Telkom copper infrastructure. They are stopping maintenance on that network as I understood it and migrating everyone off copper and onto SIM card or fiber based solutions. My parents in law have recently had their copper line phone replaced by Telkom. Any idea if you can even rely on the copper infrastructure for a 24 month period?
 
I am currently using Afrihost Pure LTE and it has worked very reliably for the last 6 months, even during the lockdown. Sim only options start at R199 for 30+30GB. There is a 60+60GB option for R349 and larger packages as well. The topups are also quite reasonable at R70 for 10GB or R150 for 25GB etc.

Alternatively I would also look at one of the Telkom 61 day prepaid bundles and split the cost over two months to reduce the cost. The 60+60GB bundle costs 459 or R230pm for 30GB anytime data. There are smaller as well as bigger bundles available.

Contract ends next month - Wait for the best data deal?

Hi everyone, I need some advice please. My current Telkom contract ends next month. Must I stay with the month to month data from Telkom and wait for a good data deal to pop up from any of the mobile operators? Telkom did contact me today to offer me another kak 24 months deal and I declined...
