Best car batteries

What are the top makes, and most reliable car batteries to buy.

Apparently, they are all very much the same - if it swings, you're ok. Batteries like Bosch and Middas are just rebrands of the same thing.
I do, however, believe that Willard is a little better than the rest.

whatever batteries Ford Rebrand for their Fiestas. My Fezz is now 7 years old and the Silver Calcium battery in there is still running good. even though for the last 2 years i haven't been driving the car often enough having the battery die at least once a month. but when i use the car it performs well with no issues and the battery doesn't die. in comparison my Willard in my daily car lasts about 3 years.

+1 for Varta. Has a higher rating than equivilent Willard or Sabat thus lasts longer and has 24 month warranty. Costs about the same as other brands.

I got to fancy batteries in the past, and it got swapped, once during a service and the other at the panel beater. So look for a good price at a good dealer.

a friend wanted to save and got another cheap battery which did not fit well and it crack and the acid damage was over R10 000.

Nowadays, 90% of batteries are fine - it's about size (like in this case). The problem is that the major manufacturers make "no name brand" batteries and then sell it to the middlemen (or other manufacturers ) who then put their own stickers on. Varta, Willard, Sabat (Willard), Middas (Bosch), First National, Bosch (Middas ;)) all make decent batteries. You buy a battery because of price - chances are it'll get stolen sometime anyway.

I see some places sell Duracell car batteries and they have a longer warranty than other makes does anyone have any experience of these batteries?
