Best car batteries

I have to disagree with you guys not all batteries are the same. They all last a minimum amount of time others handle the
adverse better.

Exide is a good middle of the road brand.

Replaced battery in my wife's car in February 2016. Willard. The battery lasted 10 years and 9 months.

The Willard in my 4 x4 was replaced last year September. That one was 8 years and 4 months.

Dunno. Just got my battery replaced under BMW maintenance. Got a feeling it is going to be replaced soon as well seeing as I got the same warning again.

Is there not anyone who knows anything about Durecell automotive batteries?

A battery is a battery.

There is no magic formula that makes one better than the next. Treated right any car battery should last years.

The biggest difference in brands comes down to warranty.

I have always used Willard batteries. In the olde dayes, battery maintenance was very important, nowadays, most maintenance issues have been removed from your hands with sealed batteries. I will see if they actually are better than the older types. I always kept accurate SG charts for each battery and knew when a battery was going to start giving trouble long before it failed.

That is exactly why i am particularly inquiring about a Duracell because they have a thirty month warranty compared to the rest of the makes who all carry a twenty four month warranty.

silver calcium bateries will underperform in a old car due to the lower float voltage

I just replaced the battery on my beemer. Lasted 10 years - always go OEM!

Just a quick question, does Audi do coding on a battery not bought from them? Apparently my battery must be coded or else the car will still treat it as the old battery that is "dead"

Give Battery Mania in Landsdowne or Deltec Power in Parden Eiland a call. They both do Varta batteries which I am told are Audi and VW OEM batteries. They would be able to tell you.

This depends on the model. The coding is sometimes just a matter of turning on the lights and turning the wheels a certain way and other times it needs to be done with a diagnostic machine.

what model is it? I'll see if I can find out.
