Hey guys,

I want to know what is the best CMS to use? I have been using Joomla 2.5 as it has a lot of themes but its hard to post things etc. I am busy trying to get a kind of team sign up page such as the dogamingleague one (obviously not the same but just an example) and wanting to know which CMS has great themes and is easy to use?

Regards

I enjoyed using WordPress a while back. Why dont you try out WordPress, see if it works for you?

It really depends on what you would like to do. Wordpress is good at some things, while Joomla or Drupal are good at others. For forums a whole other group of CMSs are best, for example.

best colour? can't say

See what suits your needs. Wordpress is well supported IMO

You should know what your building first

I really like Joomla but a lot of people seem to find Wordpress easier to get on with.

I tested Tiki Wiki the other week which you might find more suitable for a community type site. It takes a different tack to Joomla & Wordpress in that it has a very extensive set of features built in rather than using extensions and plugins.

Wordpress - I use it for just about everything. It is easily the most client/user friendly cms out there. It used to be bigoted for being a blogging platform which was fair enough 3-4 years ago but it has evolved into quite a strong and customizable CMS. If you are looking for a set up, theme and be done kind of thing then it is only way to go.

I would not use it for complex or full featured shopping cart kind of setups, nor would I use it for a site that is going to grow exponentially. I think Joomla would be better at handling those kind of setups, but then, your clients should be clued up enough to manage it or at least be willing to hand it over to someone who has the know how.

For forums like this one, you could do worse than phpbb, it has been around for ages and seems to be kept up to date - theming is also simple assuming you dont plan on altering the functions at all - i only used it once about 5 years ago though.

I would take a look a ModX, probably one of the better CMS out there. From my personal experience
