The default is for side scrolling on pages that are too wide for the screen but you can customize its functionality. I think I changed mine to a volume slider seeing as I code on an 3440 * 1440 screen.
 
I'm returning the Logitech MX Master 2S, I can't stand the scroll wheel. When in non free wheel mode when scrolling up fast the toggle mechanism gets stuck between modes. Most irritating.
 
Is the G602 scroll wheel also a toggle? I don't want that free wheeling mode.

Logitech has only recently listed SA as a region. They have also updated their mice models. The original G502 (Proteus Spectrum) is EoL. The G502 is replaced with the LIGHTSPEED (1ms wireless) model and is named G502 like its predecessor. The new wired version is called the G502 HERO. I do see G502s in stock locally, but they are the EoL wired Proteus Spectrum models. The G502 HERO is in stock locally. The updated models are all lighter, new switches (From OMRON 20m to OMRON 50m clicks which have more tension, but lasts longer) and is now equipped with the Logitech proprietary HERO sensor.

You can also go G502 HERO, and get a bungee which helps a lot with cable tension. The only bungies that I recommend are the Cougar and Zowie because they are not as restrictive as the Razer.

Logitech also has superb customer support. I once did an RMA directly through Logitech because I couldn’t receive local support on my G403. They shipped me a brand new G403, it took 3 days to arrive in my hands without any additional cost and returning my ‘old’ G403.

The G502 as a non-gaming mouse is a productive bastard and a very good one at it too. The HERO (power-saving Mercury) sensors are incredibly accurate and comparable to the 3360/3366, but not as RAW which is okay as Logitech has optimal drivers.

Try a G502 HERO, you will like it. Remember in addition to the additional buttons Logitech also has G-Keys which enables every button with a second function through its programmable software. Obviously, you may save your profiles directly to your onboard memory for taking the mouse from place to place without installing the Logitech software everywhere you go.

Ordered the G602 from Amazon. It might be EOL but seems to be the best. Was only R522. R737 with shipping and taxes. Much cheaper than I can get it locally. Go figure. Was tempted to get two.

Only saw thread now. I own the G602, also bought from Amazon a few years back. Great mouse, you won't be sorry.
Still a few retailers have them locally, problem is, they are north of R1k here.

Nobody has it locally anymore except for Zeek for R1,400 (don't know what their shipping is).
 
Just for interest sake, I noticed the Logitech MX Master 2s is on Prime special for $39. Not bad, huh?
