I need a download manager for getting http downloads - program updates or new proggies. Using wireless means that the connection tends to get interrupted or die, things that IE do not cope with so well.

Any suggestions for a good freeware app to use ?

getright or DAP

I used DAP for several years, until the spyware/adware features became intolerable (version 5, or 6, I think). I believe v8 is better, but I'm not interested in trying.

You could also look at Fresh Download Manager, but I stopped using it because it was a bit buggy.

So many choices.

If possible it should be a small bloatfree app, something like uTorrent. I don't want it to make coffee in the morning, just have to be able to handle http downloads that "will" get interrupted.

Internet Download Manager, its the fastest I've found. I prefer it to all the others.

Problem is that its not free.. so crack it.

IDM is very small, well it has alot of features, but no bloat. if you just want to use it for that reason it will still be fine.

Still using Getright, been using since Ver 2, ad's are a bit annoying but you get over it.

Used to be a fan of DAP but some (actually most) of my rapidshare
downloads always went corrupt for some odd reason... Reverted to IDM
and have never had that issue again.

IDM all the way.

 N7.1

Had good results with Reget.
