Hey

I'm considering getting a larger external HDD for my PS4 Pro. Have notice some good prices on Amazon, both for Seagate and WD. I've only used WD and Samsung drives in the past and never had any issues with them. (Not as a storage drive for a console) I'm a little new to Seagate.

Judging by the ratings on Amazon, I think the Seagate seems to be the better choice here. Also around $35 less than the WD :)

Has anyone got any experience using either of these as an external storage device with a console (PS4 / XBOX)

Thank you.

I use a 2tb Seagate Expansion series with my PS4. Works well and usually loads games faster than the internal drive.

Well if you want the best hdd it would probablh be a ssd but for normal drives it really depends. I don't think the brand should matter but the specs of tge drive should.

I use a 1tb toshiba on my ps4 and fortnite loading times are slow but not slower than the internal though.

Using a seagate on my xbox one and loading time is not bad.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Thinking about it now, I don't really need 8tb. I think 2tb should suffice. Would be more upset loosing 8tb of data than 2tb if the drive do decide to crash... And I also don't really game that much tbh.
