Best free vector application on web?

I've recently 'discovered' vectors and applications.
I'm very new to it all.
Where can I find a good free downloadable application?
For creating wallpapers, editing vectors and creating all sort if digital stuff?

Gimp is a good replacement for Photoshop, but for vectors you'd be better off using inkscape

CorelDRW FTW! it's not free though, but the best!!

It's so easy making vectors - scan in any image and run the vector Tracing Utility!
