Hi all

Recently my area got covered for fibre (finally out of the dark ages:p) and I'm looking to sign up for a FTTH package. I'm looking for a package that will perform well for gaming mostly. OpenServe is the fibre provider in my area and their prices are higher than others so I'm looking to get the most bang for my buck before tying myself down to an ISP. CrystalWeb has told me their packages are good for gaming but I would like more feedback from anyone that has actually used them and what their experience was like? I was also considering getting the cheapest 100mbps capped account and using my current vox account with it but i'm not sure if 100mbps and a 400gb cap is the ideal combination. Anyone who's done this, is it worth it?

Thanks for your help!

I would go for lower linespeed and uncapped. Gaming doesn't require much bandwidth and most fibre packages are uncapped/unshaped with no AUP.

Currently using 100mbit Openserv with 1TB capped from Vox. Ran through the 1TB about halfway through the month in the last few months. Fortunately I had some saved up data. Switching to Vumatel for some savings & uncapped bandwidth.

I am no expert but I would think that with a 100Mbps line you will eat through a 400GB cap in no time at all.

Depends on his usage. I have a friend whom only uses 200GB per month. Downloads are scheduled for after hours.

@OP Use the VOX account and if it doesn't work, then look for something else, but you will see lot of recommendations for VOX's capped accounts on this forum. And almost everyone that is in the know, will tell you that a capped account is better than uncapped for gaming, unless you go with Cool Ideas. :)
