Best Game ever?

I'm gonna throw one into the mix here. We used to play "Iron Man Off-road Racing" for hours on end - 4 of us on one keyboard! I still have it in my DOSBox collection - only now I can max out a car in under an hour... ;)

I remember finding it in an arcade once! Couldn't resist the urge to play right there and then... :D Also, during my primary-school days I had an obsessive fascination with dinosaurs (which school-boy doesn't? :p), so it was at about that time that Primal Rage came out. It was violent and it had dinosaurs in. I was in heaven...

I loved that, as well as Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, it rocked. I spend my entire allowance for ages, in the arcade cause of that game.

Hahaha - yeah, I was the same. My first glimpse of it was at Sun City in a hotel room! Collected some of the toys as well... :D

Tie Fighter ! (original collectors CD edition) not the new carp
Strike Commander
Warcraft 1
Dark Forces (first one)
Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries
Wolf3D !
Descent 1&2
Syndicate
Doom (gotta have doom)

Quake II, CoD2, Warcraft 3, C&C and Tiberian Sun, BF1942, Interstate '76...hell, I have many faves, although my interests aren't in PC's anymore *sigh*

Not sure if this was mentioned but 'Full Throttle' and 'The Dig' were two fantastic games ...

Dune II
Starcraft
Deus Ex
Max Payne
Max Payne II
Call of Duty 4
(No-one's mentioning console games but all the Gran Turismo's)

Don't have a best game, but these are my favourite or were my favourite in the good old days...

Arcade - Street Fighter 2 - Champion Edition. Spend all my pocket money on this one. SF2 started the "Fighting Game" craze.

Arcade - Skywolf - Clocked this game.

Arcade - Super Mario Bro - Clocked this game. First platformer I played. Then brought the Nes version. Real classic

Nes - Contra

Nes - Super Mario bro 3

Nes - Ninja Gaiden

PS1 - Metal Gear Solid

PS1 - Teken 2 - Best close combat game in those days.

N64 - Super Mario 64 - My first true 3d game

N64 - Golden Eye - First time I played 4 player shooter on a console. Can't
forget that. Really intense.

PC - Duke Nukem 3d

PC - Star Craft - Best strategy game period. Multiplayer rocks.

PC - Diablo 1 and 2 - Good old RPG.

PC - Unreal Tournament 2004 - I prefer this over Quake 3. Real Action Shoot em' up

DC - Soul Caliber 2 - Beutiful graphics and smooth animation and control.

PS2 - GTA 3 and San Andreas

PS2 - Metal Gear Solid 2 (Good Gameplay, Story Sucks)

PS2 - God of war 1 and 2

PS2 - Grand Turismo 3 - The endless tweaking of cars. Rear wheel drive, 4 wheel drive where does it stop.

Xbox 360 - Gears of war - Real good gameplay. Solid action.

Xbox 360 - Bioshock

PS3 - GTA 4

Everyone knows that only "Killer Instinct" can hold the title of "the best game, ever".

BEST POINT AND CLICK ADVENTURE GAME:

GABRIEL KNIGHT: SINS OF THE FATHERS!

All Final Fantasys (Except for 12, it just sucked)
Red Alert 2
Warcraft 2 & 3
World of Warcraft
Thief series
Resident Evil series
Mechwarrior series
Battletech
Quest for glory
Kings quest
Bards tale (the one I played on my 286, not the one they made recently)

Many others...

I never really got what was so special about Half Life

Facepalm ! Soul Calibur 2 was never on the dreamcast ! only soul Calibur 1 which was a DC exclusive (I know since I still have my dreamcast and my original copy of sc1)

Regarding the best game
I dont have a Best game as There will never Be one but Spartan X is one of the best games i'v ever played and Pinball Action

from a graphical standpoint i would say definitely Half Life 1 as it pushed the pc and the quake engine to its limits when it came out in 98.
