Best Gingerbread Custom ROMS

im going to try robokicks ginger sense soon.that rom looks awesome..anyone on here using it? or anyone tried baadnews gingersense rom?

have you guys read about robo's x-a2sd+? 200mb+ internel memory..no s-off neeed. no cm7 hboot or data++

this is just awesome.gona try it out tomorrow if i can

I'm sure it is - robo's ROMs are always nice. But damn, the CM7 hboot is awesome. I was amazed that my 'ancient' Desire can run a ROM that looks so nice so smoothly - it runs like a stripped-down stock Gingerbread ROM, but with Sense.

I see a bunch of guys are working on a Sensation/Flyer(tablet) hybrid ROM as well, with full Sense 3.0. I  XDA.

xda rocks !
yes i saw the sensation flyer port.its coming along well.hope they can finish it:)

I am looking around at the new stuff as well! Thinking of robo's ROM, otherwise I will check out baadnews

Well, I flashed the InsertCoin ROM, and its quite nice! I have forgotten how great Sense realy is, it just feels more polished with no little things wrong with it.. Will stick with this for a while, love the skins available for it aswell!

Recommender for anybody looking for a fast, stable and great looking ROM!

Hey guys, I'm new to rooting and flashing roms, I had a HTC Desire running 2.2 with HBOOT 0.93.

I rooted using Unrevoked3 and then flashed Cyanogenmod7 using Rom Manager from the Android Market (the latest stable version). Upon choosing it, I also ticked the Google Apps box not knowing entirely what that did.

Anyway, the phone boots up fine with Cyanogenmod running perfectly, however if I put the phone off or even do a "quick reboot" it is stuck at the loading screen.

When I rooted the phone, the tutorial i followed only instructed to wipe data/factory defaults (i think) and not the Dalvik thing I see people talk about in this thread, should I have wiped that as well?

The only way I currently have of getting the phone to start again is clearing user data, which is a huge mission each time to restore backups and change all the settings...

If anyone can help it will be much appreciated! (I have a feeling I'm going to have to reflash the rom, but if there's a way to avoid that I would be happier :) )

sup man, the Google apps is just the Market, Gmail, Maps, Facebook and stuff like that (you get to tick the ones you want at some stage). As for the problem you are having, it is very strange indeed and I have not encountered it myself, but I always wipe everything possible when I change ROMs (except batt stats) so I would say you'll need to reflash it with a full wipe before it.

Wait for a couple more answers if you can, some clever boys on here, maybe somebody has a easier solution for you :)

+1

Some things that I have to ask. Did you download the rom via Rom Manager, did you use CM7 nightly builds or are you running 7.0.3? Sometimes it helps to download via PC and do a MD5 sum if you get problems, I have had it before where the download was corrupt.

Actually I started downloading via my PC(Check MD5) and flashing manually via recovery but that is just because of PC download speed being faster.

Yeah I downloaded it through Rom Manager, I am using 7.03 stable (not nightly), and I tried reflashing using Rom Manager and this time wiped everything and it still gets stuck in a bootloop. I will try flashing the rom via my pc next, thanks!

EDIT: Ok so it turns out the problem was extremely obvious in hindsight, but I just didn't realise it until many wipes/resets haha. In Titanium Backup, when I restored my apps, I restored All Apps + System Data, and I believe that System data was messing with Cyanogen's system data, and resulted in rebooting being impossible. So all I had to do was one more wipe, then simply restore Apps + App Data and it now works perfectly. Hopefully my silly mistake helps other people :)
