Stumble upon map quest 4 which seems promising. It just doesn't seem to be supported in SA yet.

I wounder if google are planning on releasing their voice guided GPS app for the iphone:?

You can search places around you from multiple search engines and social networks like Google, Bing, Twitter, Wikimapia.
I love that I can be guided to my destination using the 3D panorama maps of Navigon MobileNavigator with voice guided turn by turn directions.

Sorry for the necro, but didn't want to start a new thread for the exact same topic.

Currently deciding between Navigon and TomTom for iphone 4 - these two seem to be the preferred ones at the moment. Care to comment about experience, suggestions etc. regarding which one to choose?

PS Used Vodafone SatNav before on my BB and wasn't impressed with the general functionality vs. my Garmin Nuvi device. Vodafone was very rigid in terms of entering correct suburb/city for instance, which was a big issue as you couldn't do a global search like with Garmin for a street name.

I use TomTom and have never encountered a single problem with it. See the new 1.5 version is out in the US, which supports retina graphics and has a "take me there through a photo" feature. But the update is not out in SA store yet

I use TomTom on my iphone 3G and won't suggest anything else. But then again, I haven't tried anything else so can't comment on that.

TomTom for Southern Africa is available on apptrackr. Just saying for if you want to try it before you buy it (assuming your phone is jailbreaked).

As long as you enjoying it man Now just make sure you get a charger for the car (or even better - the TomTom holder) 'coz GPS can really suck battery...

Is there any way to load an app from appcake on a non-jailbroken Iphone 4?

i noticed u said u have navigon sa through appcake, i didnt find it on installous/appcake/apptrackr where did u find it ? tnx sdoodle
