Please could you assist. I need to upgrade my current graphics card. Only have about R1500 to spend. Which is the best card for my money and where can I get it from?

Looking at either Force3d 4850 or the Nvidia 9600gt 1gb

4850 at Prophecy is way better and great price @ R1300 or so but stock is only coming in on 30 June. www.prophecy.co.za

Otherwise you can try get a GTS 250 if you see it for R1500

I'm wondering also about upgrading. If I where you I'd go for 4850 with your budget.

I wonder if PCInt will stock their Sapphire 4870 Toxic 1Gbs again.

Thanks. I've placed an order for the 4850 and now just need to wait till end of June :(

man, the way the prices are falling - in a months time you could of probably picked up a better card hehe...

but if u wait u'll never get anything, coz there's always something better

The point is that he is already having to wait until July because the card is out of stock. So might as well order it when it is in stock and then also check what's around. There will probably be a better deal in a month..

The problem with waiting is that they say they only get limited stock in at that price and if you don't order and pay for it, you might not get it. Not sure what to do! BTW, I'm female, not male ... "she" not "he" :) Thanks

Anyone know where I can get a 4890 for R2700 +-. Pc Int is sold out at the moment

I am in the same situation. I'm limited to +-R1500, I'm looking at the the 4850 @ prophecy for +-R1400 but I dont want to wait to the end of June! I have seen a GTS250 (not 1 gig, 512mb) for about R1600. Which one is the "better" card? Or is there another card (4770?) that I should look at?

If you plan on overclocking, go for the 4770 else the 4850 is the best
