Best handset insurance

I got my wife a S4 mini recently and am now considering getting some sort of handset insurance for it. Mainly for mechanical damage.

Which route is best to go with? Service provider insurance, or do I specify it on my household insurance as a portable possession?

I personally decided not to take out handset insurance, because how I lost out a few times before. Rather put my money in an ETF and let it grow for myself.

Use your household insurer, they are most of the time/always cheaper than your service provider.

I'm insured with Santam, and their monthly premium was R28 a month cheaper than the service provider.
