Hi there...

I have now finally decided to use PHP for my website's scripting language, and using a MySQL database.

Now I want to know, which hosting company would be the best to host my PHP site...?

I have heard that http://www.texo.co.za is really good. If you guys know about any other companies which have better deals than Texo, with better prices, please list them.

Thanx...

If you want speed, stability, excellent service, go for Hetzner, I've been using them for years now, they are simply the best there is. I've tried about 10 different hosting companies and there simply is no comparison.
(by the way, I don't work for them)

Hi PHTech,

We would be happy to host your site. We support a range of technologies that most other web hosting companies do not offer.

Please feel free to mail us or let me know should you be interested or have any questions.

Agreed, Hetzner is brilliant, been using them for 5 odd years. Their control panel rocks as well.

Texo offers great value in terms of domain functionality for the price. Their servers are however hosted overseas. There is a higher latency when accessing their servers, typically 4 - 8x the local latency. This may make a difference in coming months with free local adsl (I think?). You need to first decide strategically whether you want local or overseas hosting, and once you've made that decision, look at service providers. Look on http://www.hellkom.co.za for a directory listing of service providers.

Pretty standard offerings these days.

I'm not here to get into an argument with someone who has an intent on bashing a company or to feed the trolls. What I do recommend is people ask their intended web host if they offer that - I can assure you at least 90% of them don't offer all of those. I have yet to see a local offering with all of those and if they do - it's definitely in the remaining 10%.

I do apologise, but I don't have time for people with hidden agendas or other ties. Good luck to you and your next host.

What the hell are you on about Raven? Getting a bit on the defensive there? I asked you some simple questions and you go off on a tangent.

And by 'local offering' you must mean you are local but your servers arent? Those 'range of technologies that most other web hosting companies do not offer' are IMO standard international offerings.

110mb.com is good if you're looking for free hosting with 5GB space and 300GB bandwidth and a lot of supported features.

I don't see any hidden agendas. He asked you some simple questions about your service claims which you don't seem to want to back up. From your defensive attitude it seems you have more than enough business and don't need any more. Those are pretty standard services these days and even if someone doesn't offer all of them almost nobody needs all of them. My guess is that you don't offer all available services either if we go through the list.

Please ignore all the fong kong web hosting providers. The most well known and popular are Hetzner and Afrihost ( South African companies). They offer the best support.

Or Webafrica, been with then a long time. Always been good.
