Best Internet for WOW

Well as im orignally from SA ive decided to move back For a while. Now problem i got is a stumbled on a little game and ive started a guild and haveing great fun but if i remmber Internet not really good in SA. But it has improved. I started to think ill never play wow again when im that side but again i can if i get the right option and right equipment.

So here goes my plea. What would be my best option for internet to get me about 250 - 400 ms.

Im on a eu server Draenor.

Unshaped ADSL is your best bet. Any wireless tech willo be variable at best. I am getting 450ms on Neoflex at the moment, but I am also getting 2000ms as well.

Are you alliance or horde?

We signed up for 4mb from Telkom in the local area.
We get home turn on a download (round about 500-700kb's)

Next day, just drop after drop after drop after drop.............(...)

About a week later we complain and they say the line on our street is very under-graded and that we should downgrade to 1mb, so we did and now there's no drops at all.

Only crap thing is the speeds are like 110kb max and that when there's a storm don't even bother playing WoW cause its just going to drop like madness and insane lag, anyone know why (and with my 384kb what we used to have before all of this - we never dropped in a storm, like... ever).

I'm very new to WoW so I'm not sure if I'm having the same problem you're talking about, but perhaps you can help? I'm playing fine on EU server (Azuremyst) - except every now and then, mid fight, I just stop fighting. I can still run around and the game isn't frozen, but I can't continue to attack the mob and it just stands there. Next second - game goes psycho (ffwd speed!), mob hits me 5 times and I've killed the mob (if I'm lucky). It's only been a problem since Love is in the Air (or whatever that Valentines content is called).

This is lag, is it? If it is, does moving to a faster line than my current bottom of the range ADSL line fix it?

thats is called a lagg spike,your internet recieved all the data at once,it suppose only happen with 3g etc,weird that you got it on adsl.
 
Openweb VPN is awesome if you can get it to work for you. I have been having slow speeds for over a month now and Openweb / MrBeep claim they don't know whats going on.

It's an awesome service, especially for WoW, you will get your 300-500ms. Just be prepared for underwhelming support from the Openweb number and a bit of tech know how to get your account going.
 
iburst is the worst SP usualy got between 600ms-900ms on adsl now with reg change im getting 280ms to 350ms
 
Get yourself a nokia 3g phone. No real problems unless the tower is out..but im running the bf's wow and mine off one connection and we average 350 ms..which actually shows that normally its not the service provider but blizzard servers themselves that are the problems.
I prefer it too telephone lines anyway but hey its just my oppinion ;)
 
My average is about 700ms with my 384k line and shaped telkomsa account. However I get flare ups of 1500ms sometimes, but It also gets to 550ms when I'm at less crowded areas on the game.

Will it be worth it to buy a semi-shaped account to reduce lag??

Why not test it? For under R100 you can buy a prepaid fully unshaped 1GB from Webafrica. Think that will answer your questions more than we can ;)
A lot depends on your location etc.
 
Just a correction - WebAfrica's unshaped prepaid is R125 per gig, not under R100.
 
so now im here in SA. havnt played wow in about a month tried adsl 384 shaped account about 1200- 800 ms .. not good .. so now im thinking of that axxesis unshaped account .. will i see a good improvement .. or do i still have to use gamermax, low ping software ?
