Can anyone recommend the best internet solution for Chartwell North ? It's next door to Dainfern

Telkom is totally out and am currently using 3G which barely OK - less than 2 mgbs.
Tried Neotel LTE but it was absolutely useless with zero support. No one else has LTE in the area.

I'm thinking satellite ???

All comment appreciated.

Are you in Chartwell along Cedar? Why is Telkom ADSL out of the question?

Oops, sorry, did not see this post 6 mouths later !!!

Telkom ADSL is out because the phone lines are ALWAYS down

Where about are you? I am in the area and using Bitco. Brilliant connection.
If you are in CNE you are aware they are rolling out MTN fibre right?

Bitco unfortunately do not sell their residential product anymore.

I have been using Vodacom 3G which until about 2 months ago was fine. Suddenly the signal strength increased but the download speeds have come right down to ± .58 MBPS. There has been talk of fibre roll out but not sure it's MTN. However, that may take some time - at least 2 months I reckon.

What about LTE ? I see that Vodacom's coverage map covers Chartwell seemly very well.

I keep forgetting that... sorry man... :o

Annoyed the cr@p out of me as I was looking to apply so that I could turf iBurst. Same issue in our area. No coverage for LTE from anyone, 3G is rubbish, no ADSL and most of the WISP's do not cover either (no LOS). At my wits end.

It is MTN. The base station is going up in my yard

Installation will commence the first week of February, and I should be up and running in the second week according to the schedule been sent to me. Obviously will need to wait and see.

Vodacom signal is terrible! I'm lucky if I get EDGE.

Not sure if you are still looking, but take a look at http://gironet.co.za/ and wiru.co.za

WiruLink is really good, and Gironet is about the ONLY wireless company I have found who specifically state that Chartwell and Chartwell North (otherwise known as Nietgedacht) are in their coverage areas.
