Hi all,

My sister just got divorced and due to Telkom stuffing up the change-over of accounts, is unable to go with them. (seemed to be just OK while it worked)

Afrihost, Axxess, Crystal Web, Web Africa etc....??

Thanks.

Edit: Seems a lot of people are quite happy with Afrihost 100gb, Afrihost Plus (200gb) with rollover and free after hours bandwidth!?

Afrihost 100GB and AfriPlus to double that data for R99 more. So R298 for 200GB's data.

You forgot to mention the after hours data between 23:30 and 7:30 so if you are a downloader you can just schedule.
Same setup I'm running this side with a 8 MB line, or at least 8 MB in theory.

Hi dudewotevr, if your sister still has a DSL line, she can put our network to the test with our free 7-day trial account: https://www.mweb.co.za/internet-connection/adsl/uncapped-adsl/4mbps-uncapped-free-trial.aspx

Hmm... Looks at 4mb uncapped Telkom bill of R602...

I recently moved from Telkom to MWEB 4Mbps Uncapped. I`m paying more now but the performance ( specifically streaming ) is great. Really happy so far.

Ah the early life of an internet user.

Give it 6 months to 2 years and then you can move to a proper ISP :)

Yeah !! I hope by then I`ll be all mad and scary and use big words like DHCP , contention ratio and NAT. I cannot wait :D

What will she mainly be using the internet for, and what sort of usage?

I've tried out most ISP's and CW is by far the best ISP out there.

In whose name is the telephone line?

I too am looking for a favourable ISP. What would be the reasons to not use
Vox
Or
Crystal Web

I have read a few forums and majority seem to favour these two.

I am lacking tech knowledge when it comes to the lingo and finer details. So when it comes to talk of fat pipe what does this mean? Vox dont mention line speed so is this then representative of the line speed? Do you require anything in particular before you can get fatpipe?
Thanks in advance
