Please guys help me choose the best isp.. I was thinking of going with open webs new fiber solution but it doesn't seem like IS is better then saix. What are the advantages of sIS by the way?
and if i go with saix witch is the best isp and must not be one of the lame expensive ones (TELKOM):D

Before someone blows you out of the water for posting this...try searching the forums 1st. There are tons of threads discussing exactly your question.

I thought of that but i also thought things charge why read about what people said 2 years ago what if there are new companies out there that i don't know about? Hey whats if telkom is now the best out there whos knows?

Can't recommend Openweb for their helpdesk service for a home user - they only supply the service from 08:30 - 16:30 on weekdays so for us working stiffs it becomes a problem. Got home at 17:00 today (Friday) and noticed a problem so I can only get to use it on Monday evening when I get home - that really sucks. Are there any other ISPs that work this way?

Come to think of it, most people have the office open for 9 hours so they could possibly have a 1 hr impact too. I really don't know what they are thinking with their hours.

I would recommend Telkom. You get local gigs on SAIX for free.

Do you fail to read the OP there Hellothere

He very specifically states he doesn't want Telkom as his ISP

Maybe its not for him, and he very specifically states he doesn't want Telkom. That doesn't exactly leave much room for interpretation.

Depending on what you're looking for, exactly, Telkom aren't that expensive anymore.

But they aren't the best if you want an international cap bigger than two or three gigs - it's just that they give you loads of "free" local-only SAIX bandwidth, which can be very useful.

Anyway... I have a 2GB account from them, and another account with Sainet... because they have a 6GB SAIX account for R250 a month. I can't tell you what their customer service is like, because I've never had to use it.

Webafrica are good, but slightly less value for money on a purely gig-for-gig basis.

Ok i hear you guys how does this sound? i get maybe 10gig from openweb then 1gig from Telkom witch would give me the free local as well right?

But from what i hear the new open web fiber is not that good what do you guys think?

how much is telkoms local?
and is webafrica any good?
or a saix account from openweb is that good?
