Hi guys,

I have been in the IT industry for about 8 years, mostly desktop and server support.
I don't feel like its much of a challenge for me, server side every now and then yes.

What would be a good way to go towards? I was looking at Vmware, storage or SCCM. Are these worth it?

I do know the basics around Vmware but I'm no expert. Are there good opportunities in these fields? and decent money?

Are any of you do Visualization/Storage? What is it like doing this on a daily basis? Are you happy doing this? Would get bored and want to change? Like what I'm wanting to do now :(

What would you guys rate would be a good way to go in IT?

I appreciate any advice.

What about a newer technology that VMware? KVM, Hadoop or maybe a new flavour of database? Mongo? If you're interested in something on the newer side, drop me a PM

Everything is moving to the clouds and VMs. Getting certified in those is probably a good direction as any

My close friend has been doing virtualization for about 7 years now. Started with Citrix, did some hyper-v, and now mainly does big vmware implementations. He spends more time on documenting the design and implementation that actual configuring vmware.

He is a traitor to the country though, he worked on the virtualization storage for eTolls.
