Hi Guys,

I recently had a pair of Beats by Dre Studio Wireless (along with backpack, MacBook pro, Mont Blanc, ID and passport etc) stolen and am wanting to replace them with either the same pair or possibly the new Bose ones.

Anyone have any suggestions of a good local online store I can check out?

All the usuals seem either out of stock, only have weird colours, or are wildly overpriced.

Not looking for headphone bashing, just would like some suitable alternative shops. Thanks.

Personally, I'd say amazon.com

Unlikely to find them cheaper anywhere else, shipping won't be too bad considering it's a small item, would be duty free to import to RSA (AFAIK), and you'd pay the dollar price, plus shipping, plus VAT at 14%

I would suggest going for a brand and model that's won a whathifi award.
I bought a pair of Klipsch X10i in ear headphones based solely on the above and they haven't disappointed.
Like bumbledore mentioned above, I would use a store like amazon or bhphotovideo.com and then a courier service like aramexglobalshopper.com (look for a free registration voucher using google when signing up)- it's a great service and very reasonably priced.
DONT TRUST THE POST OFFICE!!

Bought my AKGs from Audicoonline.co.za...fast, efficient, well priced.

Ya don't buy beats by dre... get a proper set of cans... Bose, Sennheiser, AKG's etc.
Can't recommend local places, but what the others said about overseas is good

As long as you avoid Beats everything will work out fine.

Amazon's prices are generally good and you can ship with them direct. On some products you can save insane amounts by importing direct. Saved R1200 (paid slightly under R2000, delivery and taxes included) on a R3200 (local priced) Kindle paperwhite.

Dont be afraid to use international services like Amazon's.

Some products are marked up with insane amounts locally. In these cases an import is worth the couple of days' wait

Thanks guys. I ordered a pair of Bose Wireless QuietComfort 35's from Amazon. Keen to get them!

These are without a doubt the best headphones money can buy (short of a few thousand USD): https://www.mayflowerelectronics.com/shop/headphones/fostex-t50rp-mk-iii-version-3-bass-model/

You have not lived until you have used orthodynamic headphones. Any and all dynamic headphones will forever sound cheap in comparison. Beware...

Few hundred..lol. I'm more into my IEMs. But for 'cans' I just have a pair of UE-6000, and they do a decent job. Otherwise, I just got my DUNUs today (DN-2002 + an extra "upgrade" cable). I also have the DN-1000 and DN-2000. Lot of money! But I'm done for a while now.
