Best overclocking guides?

ok so i plan to overclock my i7 920 and my force3d 5870 ati gpu. does nyone know of any good overclocking guides as this will be my first ever overclock attempt

system:

mobo: asus rampage gene 2
cpu: intel i7 920
case: coolermaster CM690
cpu cooler: coolermaster hyper 212
RAM: ocz 6gb 1600mhz
HDD: seagate 1tb 7200rpm
gpu: force3d 5870 1gb

and would i see any performance benefit if i oc'd the RAM?
 
Go and have a look at http://www.systemshock.co.za
They normally have a lot of local guys doing the OC thing.

P.S. Do yourself a favour and benchmark your system before you start. At least this way you will know what you have gained with all the hard work.
 
Where in the KZN do you live?

If your pc mysteriously disappears, don't look at me ;)
 
Noob here. anyone point me to a local site that explains voltage tweaks for OCing.

very helpful scotty but is there supposed to be so much light and smoke coming out of my tower? >.<
