Nope Just 2 firefox tabs open & skype, here is the latest one...


Tried loggin a fault through telkoms fault system and dam they really need to get some profesionals in to make it work, please press 2 to speak to a consulatant "2" sorry invalid selection - WTF
 
eish dude thats not good hey is there a crackle on your line ? i get 17ms and no jitter ? so clearly a problem here where you based ?
 
I just stumbled on one of my worst ping results ever, while trying telkom.co.za, I typed in telkom.net, which is in Indonesia. 23 hops, 800ms! (Tracert goes right round the world via SEACOM, NYC, California, Tokyo, Singapore LOL ;-)

I'm in Edenvale too, getting similar problems! Mine isn't nearly as bad as yours though, not sure how you manage to have it that bad and still open this website! I made a post here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/275376-High-Latency-to-DSLAM-Edge-Router

Since you're in Edenvale with the same issue, I'm gonna assume it's a network issue. Maintenance is scheduled for next week, http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...Maintenance-on-the-Telkom-Network-at-Edenvale, so I guess we have to wait till then?

Mine seemed to clear up, had a period with no sync for about 4 hours then it seems to have got better, still a bit of jitter compared to what it used to be.



And still have no idea why the packet loss test fails.
 


I don't know whats up with my line but its been like that since yesterday. On thursday I got an A rating with no packet loss, 32ms ping and 1ms of jitter.

I tried telkom but they weren't any help the guy just reset my port (Which didn't help).
I'm in douglasdale and I don't see notifications of any work or outages in my area so I honestly don't know whats up.
 
I've got the same problem. I'm on a 384k line with telkom. I used to get around 50ms ping now look what I get.


Tried calling ISP telkom and they don't even know what ping is...nuff said.

I'm in Claremont btw. I'm actually considering upgrading my line because this is bs.


Oh and roghiain have you got java installed on your pc? That normally stops the packet loss test.
 
Just spoke to the telkom techs who came to look at my line, They are busy doing the DSLAM upgrade for 10mps. They said it should be ready for November!
 
Your exchange supports up to 10Mbps fastest ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations.

So it is up an running just a pity it cost way to f##$ much
